He started daycare this week and hes got a cold. Poor kid has been up most of the night snuffling and sneezing, and he's got a low-grade fever. He looks so pathetic.
He hates the snot sucker so it's been interesting trying to make him feel better. He must be exhausted but he can't sleep :-( So I can't sleep :-(
Re: Baby's first cold
Sick babies are no fun.
I think M got about 10 colds last winter. I'm not looking forward to cold season starting up again.
Have you tried elevating his mattress a little bit? That may help him breathe better. You can also put a humidifier in his room.
I'm so sorry. I know that sucks, especially when you can't really give them any medicine to help with the cold symptoms.
If they are really congested, one thing my pedi recommended was to bring them in the bathroom with you while you shower because the steam can help release some of the mucas. I didn't really believe her at first but I decided to put DD in a bumbo in the bathroom while I showered. When I got out of the shower, snot was literally dripping down her nose and onto her shirt. So, it did seem to help a bit with the mucas.
I hope he starts feeling better soon.
Colds suck!
DS hated the snot sucker with the passion of 1000 suns!! I just gave up trying to use because it made him absolutely miserable.
I second the shower suggestion.

I ditto the mattress elevation idea (we actually used to let J sleep in his swing, turned off). Have you tried a Nose Frida? J hates it as much as the snot sucker but it is WAY more effective at getting all the gunk out.
Good luck! All those daycare germs suck.

I keep shooting saline up his nose, lol. He puts up with that, but it's amazing how strong he can be when the snot sucker comes near him.
At 4, I brought him to bed with me and we nursed/dozed until 8:30, and he woke up very cheerful and happy. But then he wouldn't nap at all.
I left for work at 11 and he was still awake and looked pathetic again.
Still just a slightly elevated temperature (100), so I hope he doesn't get any worse.
