Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Solids ?

When was the first time you gave LO meat and/or eggs? And what about yogurt?

I make my own fruits and veggies and find it very easy and enjoyable. But for whatever reason, I'm intimidated by making meats, eggs and yogurt!

Re: Solids ?

  • Our pedi recommends meats around 6 months. DS is on a delayed schedule with dairy and eggs due to a milk protein allergy, so I'm no help there.

  • We wont introduce eggs until after a year, my oldest DD is allergic to them I react to them when I eat just the egg and LO has had gas and upset stomach issues when I eat them.  Meat  probably about 12 months. How ever with other food allergies in the family we hold off a little longer then the average "go ahead age"

  • Our doctor actually suggested starting with meat because it was high in iron.  We gave it at about 6.5 months and eggs at around the same time.
