Go to the pedi?

I hate asking this on here because I should be able to tell if DD needs to be seen. But I'm not sure this time. She has had a cold for a few days now(3-4) it started out as congestion and boogers. I have been doing saline and sucking all of that stuff out. Starting last night she had a cough. I figured it's just from the boogers running down her throat. But it's kind of wet sounding. And it's worse when she is laying down. It actually wakes her up.

So now I'm thinking we may need to go because I'm afraid it's gonna turn into pnuemonia. And my doctors office doesn't have a nurse line. Even after hours they page the pedi and you have to wait for the call back. I have togo there today anyway to sign a release for her medical records.

So whats the verdict? Pedi or no?

    Since your going in there anyway I would probably get her checked.  Can you tell if its in her chest?  Our pedi said to listen to her chest and then listen to her breathe up by her mouth.  If it sounds the same in both places then it's not in her chest and she needs to clear her throat.

    I would want her to be seen.  Better to be on the side of caution anyway, but in this case I would most certainly want her to get checked out.

    DD had the exact same thing...she didn't seem to bad and every time we were about to take her in, she'd get a bit better.  After 3 weeks, of the same symptoms, we brought her in.  the doctor told us to wait a few more days and it cleared up.  It was a long 3.5 weeks though.  Hope your LO gets better much quicker than mine did!  If you think you should take her in, then go.

    I voted no because under normal circumstances I wouldn't go just for that unless LO had a fever or seemed to be out of whack.  Since you are going in anyways, I would call ahead of time and explain your situation to see if they can get you in or at least have a doctor call you before you arrive.
