Artslvr - You were right!

Remember when I had the question about scrambled eggs a while back and how I was so nervous about getting two kids out of the door in the morning? You told me that it's really not that much harder than getting one out of the door.

Well, you were definitely right! I think that at the time, I was nervous because all summer we were not really on a schedule. Now that I've been back at work for over a month, I feel like most mornings it's a piece of cake. There have even been two times where DH was OOT and I got both kids up and out of the door all by myself and I still got to work on time.

Anyway, I just had to tell you that because I think of you sometimes. I appreciate you setting me straight :-)

  • Going back to work always got me on a better schedule after maternity leave.  Without the need to be out the door by a certain time I really went with the flow (ie get as much sleep as possible) too much.  Being back work at work got the whole house on a daily schedule.

It's so true. And honestly, I don't really have to get up any earlier than I did with one kid. DH and I get up at 7am so that we can get out of the door by 8am. It's really not that bad.

(Although I need to be getting up at 6:30am to work out but since DD#2 has not been STTN, I haven't been. However, she STTN the last two nights so if this continues, I'm going to start working out again in the morning.)

  • GL with STTN.  I found the 2 kids thing to be more increasing of work when trying to get out on the weekends. The baby just needs more stuff and I am bad about keeping my diaper stocked and ready to go.  That and traveling, again the baby just needs so much more stuff.  I remember taking Maggie to Museum of Natural History one weekday for a mommy and me day and it was so much easier without the huge diaper bag, bringing along food and drinks (Maggie can eat and drink at the restaurant) and even the bulky stroller could stay home - SO much easier.  Although now that Molly is getting older it is getting easier so there is an end in sight!
  • Wow, that feels good, thanks!

And if you go down the Road of Three, I can tell you get up at the same time in the morning to get three out the door as I did to get one out the door.

    Cheers!  Big Smile

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

Haha! Yes, that's what I was thinking in terms of three. We do hope to have another and at times it feels like it would be overwhelming but then you get into a routine and it doesn't seem as daunting.
