Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

crying = counseling

Has anyone found that when they are upset everyone tells them to go to counseling? I mean, we just found out the HB stopped a week ago, and I feel like everyone thinks I have over-stayed the allotted time of sadness.

fyi- I have thought about it and probably will. at this point i just want to take my time to grieve.

  • We experienced that some.  Take all the time you need to grieve and if you feel you need counseling at some point, please seek it.

  • my mother has suggested this so many times regarding tttc in general....

    I am sort of at the point where i know time heals...but we all need to know when to ask for it if we need it.

  • You definately need time to just cry it out at first.  Counselors are always there if need be.  

    Also, why does everyone tell you NOT to cry  Sometimes we just need to cry to feel a little better.  The nurses at our RE's office were the only ones encouraging us to cry.

  • Oh, do I hear you!  One of my friends skipped the counseling advice and went right to suggesting that I go on medication!!!!!!!!  This was two weeks after my second loss in four months.  What I needed, and what I allowed myself to do, was not to put any pressure on myself.  If I felt like showering, I did, if I felt like reading books obsessively, I did, if I felt like leaving work early, I did.  I really and truly just cared for myself in the most low pressure way possible.  I have to tell you that I feel better than I have in so long - my second loss was in the first week of October.
