if you have one or 3 or more kids.....does it annoy you that

ALL packages for families are for "family of 4!"????

Because it sorta drives me NUTS....like  ok, what kid are we leaving home so we can do this activity??  Because by the time you pay the seperate price for the next kid, you no longer get good deal.  I mean, sometimes I want to have a couple of more kids and then just buy TWO "family of four" packages.  That's a good reason to have more kids, right??? LOL

My random thought of the day as I contemplate buying a package deal that purchasing an extra ticket for kid #3 is half the price as the entire package for the other 4 of us......

  • That sucks!  Should have stopped after T! (or wait, is A the middle child or T?!)  ;)

    JUST KIDDING!

I did actually think of amusement parks (rides, etc) when deciding on # of kids.  Yes, I'm THAT juvenile!

  • Loading the player...
  • It's a sign that you should have three more!

We have thought about having a third recently and that has crossed my mind already.

  • I think it's worse for families with 3+ kids- but I'll vent that I recently purchased a family pass to our local aquarium. It is good for 2 adults and 2 kids. So they're asking me how many kids will be on the pass and I say that I'd like 2; even though we only have one child I'd like DS to be able to bring a friend a long for free since it is good for 2 kids. No dice. The idiot at the aquarium tells me I can't do that- that if DS wants to bring a friend he can get a 50% discount. I told him flatly that, okay, nevermind, we have 2 kids, the other's name is...billy bob jim boy. He's home sick. Sign him up. Idiot failed to find the humor in this.
  • As a family of 3, I get annoyed by this too. Especially if it's cheaper to do the packages for a family of 4 and not do just 3 individual whatevers. What am I supposed to do with that 4th ticket? Scalp it?

Yep...I'm just trying to decide which kid to leave at my parents or on the firestations doorsteps because I've decided life would be easier with only 2 kids........big decision...they all are cute in their own way...and they all annoy me in different ways too....maybe a clicky poll and the nest can decide for me.  Better yet, can we get a law in place that if a mother decides to do this the govt. can pick the child to dump?  YES!!!!! (did I sum up this day on the nest???) LOLOLOL

  • I will admit to being of a mindset that the world makes it very easy for families of 4.  That is one of the {minor} reasons that I am firmly in the 2 kid camp!

    Bravo!  ;)

I would chose one of the girls.  I mean, who needs two girls.  One boy and one girl should do ya just fine!

(OMG - I am going to hell!)

  • I actually had a coirker try to convince me that it was important that I stop at 2 kids, partially for this reason. Hotel rooms, regular sedan, family of four packages, even so much as to tell me I would have to give up a square table to eat dinner at, since your family has more than 4.

    I still want one more.

I'm thinking your son is voted off the island. The younger daughter can wear the older daughter's clothes at least for a little while yet, plus last hired first fired.

  • Disney wants to charge me almost $1000 more for my infant to stay in a room when I'll be bringing a PNP, so he won't be using their bed. I don't think his little pint-sized body is going to pose a fire-hazard or overcrowd the room. He's free to get in the park, and free to stay in the room, but b/c his presence adds a person, the price goes up! Stupid, stupid, stupid.

  • I must live under a rock because I really encounter it. I do want #4 so each will have a buddy to ride rides with :op
  • I don't think I've ever encountered this situation.  What kinds of tickets are we talking about?  We go to lots of places, but I've never seen a family of 4 pack of tickets to anything.

  • We've never encountered that.  Everyplace around here has family memberships that always include all the kids, or maybe family plus memberships.  Now that I think about it our children's museum might have a  4 or 5 kid limit, but I'm not there yet.

I was thinking the same thing.  I cant' recall ever seeing a "family of 4" deal

  • Dh works a weird schedule so he typically doesn't go with  us on activites so we never get the family package. However, it annoys me to no end that I have one kid and I pay the same amount for health insurance as someone with unlimited kids (Employee + Family doesn't distingush between one kid or 100 kids).

  • We voted DH off the island so the package deals for 4 still work for us.  He works so much, he usually can't make it for the fun stuff.
