I know, it gets asked a lot - and that Summer has the corner on the market.  But we're on our third Summer one in just over two years (first a piece broke, second the screen burned out, third the audio is going), so I'm hesitant to buy that brand again.  However, maybe we have an older model (https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Handheld-Monitor-Screen/dp/B0007OD8SU/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1316199178&sr=1-1).  Perhaps the product has gotten better with its apparent updated design?  Any insight is appreciated.

    that's the same one that we have and it's still going strong after two and a half years. the battery on ours is dying and we just haven't bothered to replace it, but if it's plugged in, it works perfectly.

    maybe you just got a dud?

    Ours broke, too, after two years--same model--and we just got this one. (the price was lower when we purchased) Which, for the next poster, does have the ability to add other cameras for multiple children . . .

    Same here.  We were having issues with losing signal and I contacted Summer Infant and found out it was the manufacturers fault so they sent us a brand new one; upgradedd.
