Never ceases to amaze me...

So at DD's preschool there is a parking lot right in front of the building.  There are always parents who bypass all the open parking spots, and park right up next to the front door.  They are not pregnant, they are not seniors or handicapped, and most don't have other kids with them.  Yet they feel entitled to park right next to the front door, on the grass.

It is just unbelievable to me!  There are mommies who just had new babies and are lugging infant carriers, there are grandparents, pregnant mommies - but those people park in the regular parking spots.  Ironic how those people are considerate of others. 

Just really bugs me!!  This happened all last year too.. drives me nuts!

    This is a similar problem at my son's school and it ticks me off to no end!  It is a preschool with over 250 three and four yr olds, many with physical and developmental disabilities.  The parking is a pain as it is, the school was built as a high school some 90 yrs ago or so, before everyone had a car.  The parking for drop offs is in the back of the school and the only way to get there is a VERY narrow, blind passageway between the building and a tall fence with a cemetary on the other side.  There is a traffic light on the front and back and you can NOT see down the alley until you are driving down it.  It is very important to keep the openings clear so cars can get through safely.  And it never fails that there are a few morons every day that park in non-parking spots that slow or block the flow of traffic.  There are signs up all over the building, on doors, notices all over the school website and notes on all the memos sent home not to park in places that are not designated spots.  But people still do it everyday!  Also, going out of the front is right turn only because of the parking situation, the street is a constant flow of traffic and it takes a while to turn left.  If someone is waiting too long to pull out, traffic backs up into the passage way and no one can get out OR IN!  Then the cars get backed up onto the road and you get grid lock because no one can move until the idiot blocking the way finally gives in and takes the stinking right hand turn.  This happens a couple of times a month, at least.  And if all that wasn't bad enough, there are idiots that park right smack in the yellow lines in front of the door and leave the car running, unattended!  These people don't do it very often because they usually get confronted by some angry parent or school official because this is SO dangerous.

    Some people are so rude!  They seriously only think about themselves!  And Main Street School really doesn't need anymore parking issues than it already has!!!  That is just really dangerous and stupid!
