April 2011 Moms

weird question ladies.. anyone else have little bumps on their upper arms?

ever since I gave birth, I've had these tiny little bumps, all over my upper arms. I lotion and scrub but nothing works? I have no idea if they have any thing to do with pregnancy but I didn't have them before.

  • Skin tags? I know i got a bunch on my neck that are so small they look like little bumps. They appeared the last few months of pregnancy and i assumed they would fall off :(

  • I do. Mine are not skin tags but tiny white bumps. You have to look close to notice but they're there. Not sure what they are but they were not there before giving birth!

  • I do.  My dermatologist told me that it was hormonal and very common among pregnant/breastfeeding mothers.

Sounds like KP.  I had it in my teens, and it came back hard core after I gave birth.  You can see a dermatologist, but you can try a lotion called CeraVe- it is OTC, and what I started using (on the advice of my dermatologist) when I use it regularly they disappear.

hmm good to know. I'll have to try this. Thanks!

  • I had them, too.  Someone told me taking fish oil helps.  Anecdotally, I think it did for me, they're gone!

It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!

  • I get them too. I exfoliate them then use a lotion with alphahydroxy and they go away.

Yep I have keratosis pilaris, too. I use Eucerin Intensive Repair Cream for mine...it has alpha hydroxy in it that helps exfoliate.

Since i was a little girl i would have these bumps appear on and off.  I had no idea it was a skin disorder.  My sister's and I would call them our family bumps! They are back now since giving birth. I'll have to try these recommendations. Thank you!
