Flu shot

in 1st Trimester
I am 4 weeks pregnant and my work is doing free flu shots. Is it safe to get one this early?

    Yes, you can get it any time during pregnancy.

    yes, just make sure it's the shot, with the dead virus, versus the mist that uses live viruses....

    Yes get it done NOW!!!  My dr told me I had to get it before october to make sure I don't get it.  I've never gotten a flu shot before but she told me I had to since i'm pregnant so I got it last week.

    I work at Publix and they gave free flu shots as well, I called my Doctor and they said absolutely get the flu shot because the flu during pregnancy can be dangerous for baby and mommy.  So I took my opportunity, now im trying to get my DH to get a flu shot to prevent the flu in the house in case he would get it some how.

    My Dr. is the one who recomended that I get the flu shot.  I had it at 4 weeks.  I should warn you though, get it and GO HOME!  I had the shot with the dead virus and I felt TERRIBLE afterwards.  I've never had the shot or the flu so I didn't know what to expect but I was miserable.  It only lasted one day though.  Hopefully it goes better for you.  Good luck!

    Funny how it affects differnt people in different ways. My sis said she got super-sick from getting one, but I've gotten one for the last 3 years and have never gotten sick from it. And I actually feel healthier the whole winter.

    Weird though, my nurse told me I shouldn't get one until after 1st tri...

    Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12

    Waiting on our second little peanut!
