s/o keeping baby warm: Toddler sleep sacks?

M is outgrowing the regular sleeep sack sizes (he's currently in XL, but will probably outgrow that before the end of winter). Has anyone used the sleep sacks with leg openings? Is the sizing accurate? The reviews on amazon say that the 12-18 month size is way too big for an average-sized 12-18 month old, so I'm not sure what to think. I don't really care if he can walk in it, because we put him in the sack right before bed, but I don't want it to be so big that he can pull his arms and legs out of the openings.

    J is in an XL sleep sack right now and he's 34.5" (got measured yesterday). He's getting too big for it, but I don't know if they make anything bigger ... Curious to see what others say.

    ETA: Just founfd these "Big Kid's Sleep Sacks." Might have to try them this year (they're in toddler sizes). If this isn't a kid snuggie, I don't know what is.

    Is he in cotton SleepSacks or fleece? The XL is supposed to go up to 40 inches in height, which my son probably won't hit until next spring or summer (and he's tall), but the cotton ones get small on him after a few months because they shrink. I end up buying new ones every few months to get ones that haven't shrunk. The fleece ones last longer.

    They do make "Big Kids" SleepSacks, but you'd have to go to size 4-5T to get to one with a higher height range than an XL. Those are also the ones with openings for feet, which I don't want. One of the reasons I like him in a SleepSack is that I think it helps prevent him from climbing out because his feet are contained :)

    If you're even a beginner sewer, they are not that hard to make.  I've made some fleece ones for friends and I am, on my best days, a mediocre beginner.  (I avoided the zipper and just added ties to the back.

    According to the Halo size chart, he should fit into a Large, but he outgrew his Large sleep sack over the summer. I didn't think about the cotton shrinking, but it's possible that's what happened. Maybe an XL fleece sack will fit him over the winter.

    The toddler ones I was looking at are these. I don't know if they run larger than the ones without leg openings.

    We have a fleece sleepsack with the leg openings. I do think they run larger than the regular ones. We bought it last year but didn't use it much because it was so much bigger than I expected. We will try again this year. DD is 22 months but still doesn't put her legs through the holes. If we help her, yes she can walk in it, but there is a lot of fabric bunched around her leg. Also, DD is not a tiny child, don't remember exact height at 18 mo check up, but I know she was in the 95th percentile.

    My LO is 19m, and sleeps in a Halo early walker size L sleepsack.  I don't know what the recommended height and weight is, but it's for 12-18m.  It was kinda big on him at 12m, but it didn't take long for him to grow into it enough.  I think some people think it seems big because when LO's feet are through the foot holes, it kinda looks like it drapes over the feet, but when sleeping, it's perfect, and allows to tuck the feet in.  He does still fit in the size L just fine, but I'll order a size XL in fleece for the winter.

    He has those, but I feel like he should also have a blanket or blanket-type-thing (i.e. sleep sack) during the winter. I need a blanket/duvet even if I wear warm pjs, so I assume he does, too.
