Pregnant after IF

Poll: What did you buy that you just HAD to have but is really not needed?

What item(s) have you purchased, fully knowing that you don't need it, but you just couldn't help yourself?

  • I have an odd obsession with baby shoes. Yes, I know they are not only useless ( hello?!?! babies can't walk) but that they will most likely be kicked off with-in 5 seconds of me putting them on her. I just can't help myself, though, when I see a really cute pair of shoes !

  • well i did buy some adorable dark denim sun dresses with embroidery on them. they only had size 3-6, which is kinda ridiculous b/c they will be 3-6 months in the dead of winter. but i had to have them!

i also had a ridiculous number of baby socks, but that is b/c MIL keeps buying boxes of trumpettes, lol.

  • Almost everything for the nursery, LOL.  I bought a lot of useless decorative pieces but I love them and I love their room.  Probably the most useless is this bunting made from vintage hankies.  I have it hanging on their cribs right now but I know once they become mobile that is a no-no and will have to be removed.

  • I registered for Bumbos but they were a waste.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • The stroller. I could have gotten one for 1/4 of the price that still would have functioned just fine, I'm sure. But I LOVE the UppaBaby Vista, and we all have to have one splurge, right?

  • A rocking moses basket stand and my moses basket.  I thought it would be great to have her sleep in at first right next to my bed, but now I'm worried that there won't be enough air flow so I'm borrowing my boss' cosleeper that attaches to the side of the bed instead.  Also, I've bought lots of babylegs (they're just too darn cute to resist!) and shoes that I'm sure she'll barely wear!

  • I bought little leather boots for the baby, and a Kate Spade diaper bag. Plus a bunch of clothes I am not entirely sure he really needs.

  • I bought a Serena and Lily crib skirt and bumper which are SO overpriced, but I just loved them. Even more ridiculous is the fact that the bumper will only be on there while he sleeps in our room and not in his crib... so it just looks nice for visitors etc Embarrassed

When I was in england (my family live there) I bought a ton of clothing, just because it was 'different' to here. When I factored in the exchange rate, it was a ridiculous amount to pay but I loved everything I bought!
I also have my eye on a pair of Baby Uggs... and if I have another bad week at work I may have to splurge to cheer myself up!!

  • We're splurging on a crib from RH Baby. I know I could find a great one for a fraction of the price, but I'm just in love with this one.

After 2 1/2 years TTC, 3 IUI's, endo, and a lap, a surprise BFP brought us Alexandra Marie!
