in my shock I might have misunderstood my doctor. He said he thought they were from 2 different eggs, but then also said he couldn't see a membrane between them.
am I crazy or does that not make sense?

We were told all kinds of different things at first. At the 1st u/s we were told twins but fraternal. It wasn't until I got on here and started posting that people told me that may not be true. Then 2 weeks later we saw the Peri who said, no they are ID twins. There is a thin membrane between then. After that when we had different u/s not everyone could see the membrane because it was so thin. Just relax and wait until you see a peri or a MFM who can tell you what's really going on.
You're right, that doesn't really make sense. If they're from 2 different eggs they would be fraternal and have their own placentas. The membrane only comes into play with identicals. But, since he's mentioning not seeing a membrane already at 7 weeks (I had issues seeing ours at 12 weeks), I wouldn't pay much attention to him. Does he have experience with twins? If not, you might want to look elsewhere for your care.
