CD moms who DIY laundry detergent

I just made my first batch of liquid detergent made with borax, washing soda, and fels naptha soap. The fels naptha definitely has a scent to it, but the detergent seems very "clean". Does anyone know if this mixture would be safe for CD's? I currently use charlies, but wouldn't mind saving the $. I noticed washing soda is the main ingredient in charlies.

  • I just started using this several gals on here use it.  You won't be able to use the detergent you made for diapers, as it has soap.

  • It's a dry recipe.  So, you just add dry flakes to the wash.

Thank you for the link.  I went out and bought the ingredients this evening.  DS smells like dead fish every time he wets now.  Hopefully this stuff will do the trick.  We bought the ingredients for the full batch but only half the bar soap needed.  We're going to mix it up, split it in half and use one half for CD's and the other half we'll add the soap to for regular detergent.
