Baby Names

Clicky poll for my girl names

I'm finding myself drawn to only certain names for a girl and can't decide at all. I like unique names, and am super picky about nn's. I like some of these names because the nn's Lou or Em can go with some.

I absolutely love the name Elle but fear it's becoming too popular. Our last name starts with D if that helps. What do you like?

  • Elise (spelled this way) is my favorite. My second fave from your list is Leila.

  • Emmaline/Emmeline.  Both are correct (Behind the Name calls the second archaic, but I think I prefer it).  NOT Emmalene.
  • I would have voted if it was Emmaline...one of my favorite names. Instead, voted for Leila.

I voted for Leila, by default.

I would have voted for Elise (love) or Emmeline...but I cannot deal with the above spellings.

The only one I don't like (spellings aside) is Emerson. I don't care for boy names on girls.

I agree with MJ. I think Emmeline nicknamed Emme/ Emmy and Barron are great. They both also have double consonants, so that might be a reason for or against using it depending upon other names you might use for future children (or if you plan on more).

    This... why the awful spellings?

This.  Although, I really love the name Elle too and I've never actually met a child named Elle.

  • Lola and Leila were on my very short list for our first baby, but DH kept crossing them off.  They are again on my new list!  I love Lola especially!  Our DD is named Elsa, that may fit with your tastes as well.  Good luck!

     This.

I also like some of your other choices but Elise is my favorite - it is also not super popular, another plus.

  • How would you pronounce Emmeline? Is it "emm eh LEEN" or "LINE"? I'm finding different results.
