Trying to Get Pregnant

Hey! I read that you're an athletic trainer  in the post below about when to have your baby....me too!! So, your practicing at the high school level? How do you like it??

Re: *~aggiebride~*

  • Hey!

That is awesome that you are an athletic trainer too!!  Most of the time I have to explain to people what I do b/c they always think I am a personal trainer!  Anyways, I love being at the high school level.  I am in my 5th year out of college, and have to say it couldn't be better!  Being a trainer in Texas is great - they really take care of us here!  I make pretty good money, and don't have to teach a single class during the day!!  How is it in Connecticut?  I know every state is different on how they view trainers, so I am curious to know!  Talk with you soon!

  • How funny!! Same here, 5th year out of college. I was in the public schools for 3 years doing the physical therapy/high school split but now I am in my second year at a prep school and really like it. I teach one course in anatomy & physiology and then do my thing in the afternoon. Our fall season just ended thankfully (it's so hectic with football, as you prob know). It's so nice to talk to someone who understands!! Great meeting you!
  • Yeah, great meeting you too!!  This is going to be a dumb question, but what is a prep school?  I don't think we have those down here!!!  We are super busy right now!  Football starts their first round of playoffs this Friday (we went 10-0 this season and are the defending 4A State Champs!) Not to mention volleyball has their 4th round playoff game on Friday (regional semi-finals) and basketball has already started!  AGH!!  And Spring is supposed to be the crazy season for us - no wonder I can't get a BFP with all this stress!  But, it really isn't too bad when you are at a school with good athletic teams - kids don't seem to be hurt as much!  Funny how that happens!
  • valid question- it's a college preparatory school aka "boarding school". More than half our enrollment lives on campus like a college student would and the rest commute. Faculty have the option to live on campus as well and serve as "dormitory parents". I elected to live off campus; my husband and I bought a house last October.  Athletics in this setting are a bit different...seasons aren't as long as the public school and we have longer breaks, like Thanksgiving and Winter, so that our boarding students can go home. We do have a pretty big international enrollment too. Our football team is the last one standing--we have a Prep Bowl Game up in Massachusetts on Sat. which is a pretty big deal. I hear ya on the stress--my cycles started off so wacky when I went off the pill, but like you said that stress from the job is likely the culprit!! Best of luck TTC!!
  • Thanks!  Best of luck to you too!!
