I caved and ordered mine today but am feeling nervous about it. Has anyone NOT been able to find the HB? If I can't find it one day, I know I'll freak out. Also, is it safe to use every day? I know I'll want to!
I have one! I haven't actually found the heartbeat yet but I'm only 9 weeks today, so it is still a little early to find it consistently yet. It is a little nerve wracking, but I just saw our LO on Friday and heard the heartbeat there so I feel a little less nervous, can't wait to start hearing it on the doppler though

I have one. I had a loss in March and knew I wouldn't be able to wait 4 weeks between appointments.
Since I became 11weeks pregnant I have been able to find the baby every day. Sometimes it's harder than others and sometimes it's louder/quieter than others but that is because the little babe is moving around so much!

I have one and I love it... I also used one when I was preggo with my son. I'm 12 wks and I'm able to find a hb pretty easy, maybe within 5 mins. One day I didn't find it, but I didn't get scared because I knew the baby is still small and sometimes, if they are facing towards the back is very hard to pick up the hb with the doppler. The key is not o panic if you dont find it one day, just try it again the following day.

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and the tech said I should be able to find the hb at home. I'm only 8 and a half weeks though, so I don't expect to find it for another week or two.
I wasn't sure about ordering one, either, but I'm so glad I did! Four wks between appts seems too long to wait for reassurance, particularly if you've had a previous m/c or been close to someone who has.
I still can't find the hb every time. I hear this has to do with the way the LO is turned, among other things. Regarding safety, I was worried abt that too. Couldn't find any details on it being unsafe, but I still only use mine once or twice a week. A lot of people seem to use theirs daily without a problem.
Don't freak if you can't always find the hb, just try again later. Can't wait to hear how it works for you!
I got mine a day short of 11 weeks and found it after about a half an hour. Sometimes I could hear it in the background but not get it to focus. The next time I tried it, I found it faster, but it still takes time for me. I know it's right next to my lap scar, but if the angle isn't right, you can't hear it. It is fun to hear my food digest in the meantime (not). I know the rate is regularly wrong though. I've counted it at around 170 when it's reading 125 (which seems to be the default rate when it can't get an accurate reading). Sometimes it hangs out the in the high 50s/low 60s, and sometimes it's a strong 170. It makes me wonder what on earth is going on in there!
I have one and have been able to find baby every day since 9w4d. Today was the first day I had some trouble locating baby and I think my uterus has started to move out because baby was much higher than it has been. I have a video about how to use it and the different sounds, link here. Lots of people confuse the swooshing noise you pick up from your own heartbeat, artery or placenta for baby, but baby's heartbeat is actually a clicking noise, kind of like a galloping house.
ETA: That should be "galloping horse" not house, ha.

I just got one but we haven't been able to find the HB yet (we have tried 4 times). At my 8w appt I had a tilted uterus so that's what I'm thinking it is.
I am currently 11w4d and have an u/s scheduled for monday so hopefully we can be guided in the right location
Mine came yesterday and I thought we found the hb last night but now I'm convinced it was an artery because I can find the same sound on the other side too. I tried to find it today after I realized I was listening to my artery and had no luck. I'm not freaking out about it or anything (I'm 10 weeks on Thursday) but I did get frustrated when I realized I was wrong.
I just ordered one last night. Hoping it will put my mind at ease because the next OB appt isn't for 3 more weeks...and DH wants to tell the masses next week. I need to hear that little heartbeat first! I hope I can find it...it should be here this weekend.
Last pg I found it at 9w3d. This time I have still not found it and I'm 11 weeks. I'm guessing that this LO is just nestled in deep (even though my ute is moving up quickly). We saw the hb at 9w2d and we have our NT scan on Friday so we'll get more info then. I'm guessing s/he is just tucked away.

Look! I put the diaper on the baby!
