anyone NOT have U/S yet?

Hey everyone!  I'm having my first ultrasound 2 weeks from today at 18 wks 5 days.  My OB office doesn't do them until 18-20 weeks unless you are high risk. We should also find out the gender at that appt. too.  Soo excited.  Anyway, is there anyone else out there who is anxiously awaiting seeing their little peanut for the first time?

    My first one is tomorrow at 16 weeks 4 days. This one will just be for dating the pregnancy and then we will likely be having another one in about a month to find out if its a boy or a girl.

    i had one at 9 weeks in the ER when i went in for bleeding, but the tech turned the screen so that i couldn't see anything.  does that count? 

    my next one will be at 18-20 weeks, and i don't really want that one, but the OB is insisting.  now that i know i have to have one, i'm kinda excited.

    I haven't had mine yet. I won't have it until Oct. 25th  Sad  The suspense is killing me!!

    I'm only getting one u/s this pregnancy, and not until the third tri to make sure the placenta isn't over my c/s scar so I can have a VBAC :-)  If we wanted, we could get an elective one to find out LO's sex...but meh.

    I almost wish... As great as 7 u/s in 14 weeks sounds it just means I've had issues and been a threatened miscarriage for 6 weeks now... I'd rather be in your shoes.

    Yes, my ob/gyn doesn't do them until 18-20 weeks either. I don't even have an appointment set yet for it. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

    I have had 4 already (5 weeks, 6 weeks, 7 weeks, 12 1/2 weeks).  I have two more scheduled (16 weeks and 20 weeks). Given my history, my dr is being cautious.

    Congratulations on your patience!  Enjoy your u/s when it comes!

    DD#1 11/7/04 DS#1 6/24/06 Chemical Pregnancy 6/08 DD#2 1/28/10 after secondary infertility, Clomid, & acupuncture missed m/c 6/2010 at 8 weeks (baby stopped growing @ 5.5) DS born sleeping 1/13/2011 due to cord accident at 22 weeks. DD#3 3/10/2012

    I'm right there with you!  We haven't had any u/s and won't until 18 weeks for the anatomy scan next Thursday.  I can't wait!

    With DD, I had to have an echocardiogram around 13 weeks and the technician gave us a sneak (blurry) peek of our DD using her machine.

    I have to wait until Nov 7th! Sad

    With my DD I probably had at least 5 u/s, so this waiting is killing me!

    I saw our little friend at 6 weeks to confirm our pregnancy but he just looked like a peanut. I have my u/s at 18w2d which is September 30th! Were so excited! We can't wait to see our baby actually look like a baby. =)

    I am shocked at the number of practices that don't do dating ultrasounds!  In my practice every patient gets a first trimester ultrasound to confirm the due date.  We have technology, so why not use it?

    I had one at 6w 4d because of some spotting. It was just a little dot on the screen with a very tiny flicker. I'm so impatient. I go at 18w 4d for the A/S. I can't wait to see him or her dancing around looking like a baby, not a "skittle". I am also struggling big time to focus because I'm so excited!

    Because I was bleeding, I had one at week 6...but that was it. Now that I'm almost 13 weeks, I'm ready to see our little one!!! I think we have to keep waiting. I have U/S envy from all the pictures posted!

    Thanks for your responses.  I feel a lot better knowing that I'm not the only one.  It makes me nervous...I just can't wait to see the baby and know that everything is progressing okay.  Less than 2 weeks! Yay!

    yes, I'm a physician, I know that.  Some of the other ways to date a pregnancy are antiquated and used when a first trimester ultrasound (or any for that matter) has not been done (I'm referring to date of first positive pregnancy test, onset of quickening, etc).  First trimester ultrasounds are used in my practice to confirm the dates.  Many women think they know their dates, but sometimes are off by a week or more.  Why is it so strange?  Again, we have the technology, why aren't more people using it?  I'm in the Northeast, and honestly, I don't know of any practice that doesn't routinely do first trimester ultrasounds to confirm the dates.  I just think it's very strange not to.
