For some reason, this whole "I'm gonna have a baby" thing really, REALLY hits home once I go to the doctor and hear "OK, we will see you in two weeks".
Yep. I'm 28 wks right now and have a dr appt next week. After that is when I start my 2 wk visits. I look forward to it. About this time is when I'm really wanting to see what my "little man" will look like. I'm ready for him.... that is, when he decides he's ready.

Wait until you are going every week and at your last weeks appointment the doctor says...."We might see each other before your next appointment!"
Thats when it really hits!
But what sucks is when your next appointment is in two days and unless something major happens (and it could!) you will be seeing the doctor at your scheduled time.
So what do you ladies do at the every 2 week appointments? I go back at 32 weeks, 36 weeks, 38 weeks, and 40 weeks. I guess in other words, I don't go to every 2 week appointments until 36 weeks and wont go once a week unless I hit 40 weeks. Does your doctor do something different or is it still just listen to the heartbeat, measure your fundal height, blood pressure, and questions?
Not trying to be snarky but it seems like a waste of time to go every 2 weeks if everything is going well. Not saying that you have a choice, just curious.

Oh man, this hit me today too! It wasn't the increase in OB appts that did it, it was when I was meeting with pediatricians, and she said, ok, we'll see you in 2-3 weeks, a month at the latest! Freaked. Me. OUT!

I ASSume its to check for pre-e and other later in pregnancy problems. I would NOT be comfortable AT ALL not seeing my doc every two weeks at this point, and every week starting at 36 weeks... I would get a new doc if that were the case, and this is my third baby!
One week is gonna be a pain when i work mon-fri lol. Maybe thats my hint to stop working by then. Its getting impossible to take time off for these appoitments

It really hit me during the hospital tour this past weekend. At the very end, the nurse brought over to our small group (with mom and dad's permission) a newborn little girl who had been born just that morning. She was so small and beautiful, and I couldn't help but get a little emotional as the nurse swaddled her. I think DH secretly hopes we are team pink now...
La la la, I can't hear you - I'm not going to have 4 children in 12 weeks.
Same here...But to be honest I cant wait to just smell her and hold her little hands..I day dream about that the pain NO!!! But everything else I welcome. Plus she has 2 brothers (13 & 15) and a sister (6) they cant wait to meet her!!
