Flu vaccine

Have any of you received or at least been offered the flu vaccine? I thought I would hear about it during my OB visit today but nothing was mentioned (and I forgot to ask, of course).

I made an appt with my general practitioner and got mine last week. Aside from some soreness the next day, it was a piece of cake. My OB does not provide them.

My OB encouraged it and offered it at my appointment last week so we did it right there and then.

i asked my ob at my last appt. and they said to get it if i wanted it. I got mine last week w/ my reg. doc. my ob doesn't supply it.

My OB gave me mine last week at my regular appointment. If your OB office is giving them I'm sure you can wait until your next appointment.

My OB brought it up last week ... I told him I got one in March at my very first appt... so he suggested I get this years vaccine... and had his nurse give it to me.

I had to call and ask. my OB does do them, but i had to make a separate appt. to get it, i did it yesterday.

I just thought about this today and plan to ask about it at my appt on Friday (had an appointment yesterday but didn't think about it). If they don't have them available at my OB's yet, I'm just going to go to Walgreens after my appt.

My OB does not get them and my regular doc did not have them in yet. So I just did at Target, which was super easy.

I got mine 2 weeks ago at my regular OB appt. The OB said with my being so far along and all the benefits for baby of getting the shot while still pregnant that I was way high on the priority list to get it.

My doctor mentioned very early in my pregnancy, but told me it was optional if I wanted to get it. I've never actually had the flu vaccine, so I wasn't all that interested. However, DH always gets his, and now he said that I should consider getting it. We will talk to the doctor on Thursday.

I don't normally push this stuff but seeing as we're heading into the flu season with newborns, you really should think about getting it before LO gets here. LO will then get your antibodies (and the antibodies they will get in utero are a bit stronger than the ones they will get with just breastmilk if you waited to get the shot until later--if you're even planning on BF'ing or will be able to). Also, it takes up to two weeks (at least I think it's two weeks) for your antibodies to be fully formed after the shot, so you'll want to get it sooner rather than later.

My OB encouraged me to get it, but they don't provide it. So I'm getting it from Employee Health at the hospital where I work tomorrow morning.

I got my vaccine about week ago and haven't had any side effects so far so good.

Mine hasn't said anything about it, and I've never actually gotten a flu shot. I don't know whether she would tell me to have any vaccinations, though. When I asked her about Pertussis, she didn't really seem to know and told me to ask the pediatrician about it.
