Looks Brady is going to need another surgery. Just curios how old your LO was when they had theirs removed? Our ENT says they normally do not take Tonsils out of children under 3 but it he has been done but we could wait until after he is 3 to remove those and just do the Adenoids now.
He has some breathing/sleeping issues right now and both are very enlarged!
Re: Tonsils/Adenoid removal in toddler
My nephew had his adenoids out at 2 and tonsils out at 3.
I think he's soooo much happier now, he's eating and sleeping much better and is actually putting on some weight (the kid was wearing size 1 diapers at his first b-day).
Hugs to Brady.

I had mine out at the age of 4. For me, they waited to long and I had major apnea issues and blood vessels burst on them. The surgery took 3 times as long as noraml and my recovery period was also extra long. I would not wait that long.
DS had his out at 17 months. He was one of those extreme cases. He has PFAPA which causes fevers of 104+ every 28 days that last 7 days. Taking the tonsils and adenoids out usually makes the fevers stop so we did it. We had to stay overnight in the hospital. It was pretty miserable for several days and I thought we had made a mistake. (We didn't. It just seemed that way).
Honestly, if you can wait until 3 and just do adenoids now, I would do it. My concern is what if you take the adenoids out and it doesn't help. Then are you stuck putting him through 2 surgeries in just a few months time? I would ask the ENT what the chances of that are.
Emily has hers out in June...she was just over 3.
Her ENT wanted to wait until she was closer to 4 but I went for a second opinion at a pediatric ENT and he said she was a good candidate. I am so glad we didn't wait! Em was waking up 5-7 times a night, coughing, having nightmares/night terrors, etc. Her tonsils were huge and her adenoids were slightly enlarged.
We had to stay the night in the hospital and recovery wasn't too bad. My funny girl lived on sour cream and onion Pringles instead of ice cream, pudding, etc. Her sleep has improved so much and she just seems happier. The hardest part was getting her to take pain meds. The prescription codeine upset her tummy and made her sick so we went to straight Tylenol early on.
I would do both as soon as possible. I would want to avoid two surgeries and make sure that things didn't get worse.
Good luck!
Nolan was 3 months shy of 3 when he had both tonsils, adenoid, and tubes done. It was hard on him for about 4-5 days, and then started to get a ton better each day. We did keep pain meds on board for him because getting behind the pain made it so hard on him.
Our ENT says wait until three, but in some cases he does it early. Nolan needed tubes put back in, and his adenoid removed at that time. His tonsils had not yet been a huge issue, but they were enlarged, and generally big, so the ENT thought it better to put him under once, rather than once, and again a year later.
