Does anyone else have a tilted uterus?

My OBGYN told me yesterday that my uterus tilts the opposite way that it normally would. She said its nothing to worry about, its just the way I am made...anyone else told this? What does it mean exactly?

I found this and it helped me understand better...so weird!!! I wonder if this means those of us with a tilted uterus will have more back labor?

I think in most cases it just means that you can have more difficulty getting pregnant. It also means that you might be more likely to have trouble with tampons, pain during sex and pain during periods. I have heard that childbirth can make it tip back one way or the other so after you pop this kid out, it might tip back to normal (weird).

I had one with DD3, all it did was make it harder to hear her HB with a doppler. It fixed itself and now it's apparently tilted the other way, which makes it easier to ear, lol.

I have this too -- my doctor said that my uterus will actually shift the "correct" way as pregnancy progresses- so this isn't an issue.

During my first pregnancy they told me this and all I noticed was they had a harder time with a regular ultra sound and had to have internal longer than normal- this time, the regular ultra sound is already working- not sure if it could have changed position with the last pregnancy- but they haven't mentioned anything this time. It was no big deal for me.

I have one too. During pregnancy, they generally straighten out around 12-14 weeks.

I have this. About 15% of all women do (or something like that). I had my OB appt yesterday and during the doppler she could hear the baby moving but only heard the heartbeat for a second. When she did the internal she goes "OH that's why!" Apparently it's a bit harder to hear the HB before 10 wks when you have a tilted ute.

Years ago during an annual, I was told mine tilted and that would make for a bit of a rough pregnancy in that I'd be on bedrest for a while. But my OB said nope, it should straighten out as the pregnancy goes along and I shouldn't have any problems.

I have a prolapsed (tilted) ute and it has never been an issue for me at all.

It's pretty common. It straightens out during pregnancy but mine has gone back to being tilted after each kid. I have not had any trouble getting pregnant because of it and I didn't have back labor. It does make it more difficult to hear the h/b on the doppler early on.

If I remember correctly, I think I was told I have a retroverted uterus a few years ago, which I think means it tilts back, but I think my OB said it was no different than being left or right handed...some people tilt forward, some back...she said it was nothing to worry about.

I do! Defiantly doesn't make it hard for me to conceive though. It has always made my paps hard and a little painful. I have noticed male OBs are better because their fingers are longer. When i had my son i was in the Navel hospital, you dont see the same doc every time you go, and i hated being checked by the female doctors. as the baby grows your uterus will position its self for birth. Its really nothing to worry about.

I did have back labor..but back labor is usually do to your baby being face down. ive never heard of it being from a tilted uterus...ill have to look into that!

This is my third pregnancy and for the first two I heard nothing of a tilted uterus. Then at my u/s 2 weeks ago the u/s tech said "did you know your uterus is tilted?"

This is what I know. My mom had one too and had two kids just fine. So I'm not worried.

I have this too, and although I'm not to worried because I hear it's fairly commmon, I was disappointed that at my appt last week, we couldn't pick up the heartbeat on a doppler no matter how hard we tried

I was really looking forward to that!
