I was told after my 2nd that I have a thin uterus and if I wanted a 3rd it would be taken at 38 weeks. Just wondering if anyone had another baby after being told this, and how the recovery was.
I was! I had my 2nd CS at 39 weeks and my baby was 9 pounds 14 ounces. The first baby I had was 9 pounds. As I was being closed up this time, my doctor said my uterus was very thin and that if I wanted another one, to wait one to 2 years, better if I wait 2, to get pregnant. We are done and DH had a vasectomy. To me, it wasn't worth the risk and I felt like my recovery this time was much harder. I had a lot more pain and had to take way more pain meds. They had to do a lot of yanking and pulling to get my DD out because of her size. We feel complete with our family and I don't think it's worth the possible risk. I need to be here for the ones I have. I know uterine rupture would be a huge possibility at this point.
Dh and I were asked in the OR what our plans were for my uterus, because I had a rupture (more like a tear not full blown rupture, I learned later). The on call OB said if we were fine with two kids she'd recommend we be done, but if we wanted more that I'd need another c-section that'd be done earlier in the pregnancy. I was more or less told that it was fine to have more kids but that my uterus was not allowed to feel another contraction again.
