Okay, I know I'm probably getting annoying...

Okay, I bought my first OPK's and even though I know I shouldn't be O'ing, well I guess I don't *know* but I don't think I am, I took one of the tests because I can't resist peeing on things these days and I waited, waited, waited, nothing, then three minutes later I see a tiny faint line for the test line and a dark bold for the control.  I used the regular $$ tree tests, brand is New Choice or something along those lines, I don't have the box with me anymore. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?! I did read FF, and everything else, and but it says on the box that two lines = ovulation in 24-28hrs, but some websites say faint line = lies! Anyone that can give me insight,I will be forever grateful to. We did the BD yesterday when the IUD was removed, but should we tonight and the next night for baby-making?

    Probably in the directions or one the box (if it's new choice) it shows that no line or faint line = negative. The test line has to be AS dark as or darker than the control.

    The second line needs to be as dark or darker than the control for it to be a +opk. I always have a second line and it gradually gets darker until ovulation.

    Those Dollar Tree tests are good, but taking a single one will do you no good. You have to take at least one a day - preferably two - for a period of several days until you catch your surge. The line will get very dark, and then fade out again.The OPK will only test a surge of hormones. It won't tell you when you ovulated, or even whether you ovulated. You'll have to chart temperatures for that.

    The odds of ovulating the day of or the day after your IUD was removed = slim. Didn't you talk to your doctor about this stuff?

    He didn't explain much to me, especially not about how OPK's work, I guess his theory was 'you're young, you'll have a baby, just have sex' which may not make a good doctor to some, but he delivered my daughter and has my OBGYN, I did love him. Sorry if its irritating, I was just confused! Thanks for the quick answers though, I will pick up a BBT today.  Yeah, I figured the odds were that I wasn't, but got my hopes up anyways, I think I'm like the only person who can even see the damn line, its so light so I probably will O around when I thought I would originally, Oct 4-8th.

    Got it, I read it wrong, I thought it just said that if there were two lines we were good to go, instead of seeing the C had to be darker than the T line.  Thanks for the quick answer hun, guess we will be waiting till when I originally thought!  Still no AF though yet and I should have had her by the 18th (not P though since I had my IUD in), I'm guessing it will just take awhile to get things regular!  Thanks.

    Alright, thats good to know!  So just keep watching for it to get darker.  Do I need to take them daily to really be sure, or can I just skip every other day?  I wish I could find a pack of like 100 vs buying 1 for a $1, it gets expensive after awhile I would imagine!

     I got a pack of 100 on Amazon for $20 with shipping.  Wondfo brand.

    Get the cheap OPKs from Amazon... Then you can test twice daily without spending the $

    Also as Dinine mentioned, Peeonastick.com is a great site, and answers all your questions.

    The test should tell you how long to wait before looking at it. I am surprised that you had time to "wait and wait and wait" before three minutes were up.
