Last time this was not a concern, as Charlotte came in October. But now being due in March, I will need some sort of coat. Anyone have any suggestions? Just get a big sweater or fleece? Invest in a winter coat? Help, please...
My first DD was due in March, and somehow I stretched my winter coat over my belly. I didn't want to spend $ on a nice coat, and I was hot all the time anyway, so it worked out. If it didn't I probably would have gotten a big fleece or big vest to cover my belly better.
My oldest was born at the end of January. I had a really big wool coat (I think it was called a swing coat) that I bought about 10 years ago. It was so great as a maternity coat, that I ended up letting someone at work wear it through their pregnancy. I have no idea what ever happened to it, so I bought an actual maternity winter coat from Old Navy for my youngest (bown at begining of February.)
I was pg throughout the winter, so I ended up getting a really cute peacoat from Gap. They don't seem to have any, but Old Navy has some cute ones right now.
I'm lucky that when I was in high school it was super cool to be wearing large clothes. So I have a bright red adidas winter jacket that is size 2x haha. Reversible as a bonus haha. But, I actually did use it a bit last winter when I had to take the dog outside and would use the ergo with dd on my front and just zip it up over us. So I am sure it should fit my pregnant belly if it fit a 15 month old in there.
Otherwise...I would probably just buy a larger fleece and then throw my regular jacket over without zipping. But I hate buying maternity clothes...especially something that will only be worn a few months. Unless you will be outside a lot. But for just in and out of the car I wouldn't bother. Playing with dd in the snow doesn't last super long at this age either so you should be ok with throwing on an extra sweatshirt as well.

ETA - it was this coat, except it had a hood. https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=50200&vid=1&pid=876451
Old Navy has 30% off their maternity today online.
