How's it going today?  The weekend didn't feel so much like bed rest to me because I still did some activities.  (WIth my doctor's permission, DH and I did a portrait session we had planned, we went to the hospital for the 2nd steroid shot, and then last night some friends came over and hung out with me on the couch.)  But today is my first day home alone.  I think that I'm kind of grateful for it today because my throat is a little sore, so it's good that I can get some rest so it hopefully doesn't turn into a full blown cold.  Other than that, I think I'm planning on finishing baby shower thank you cards and drooling over Ian Somerhalder while watching Vampire Diaries on DVD.  How is everyone else keeping sane today?

Re: To those on bed rest...
Sounds like a great weekend! I hope your throat gets better - get lots of rest today mama!
Honestly, I'm kinda stressed today. My boss has already called with work questions and then I got a call from my STD insurance that the Drs office filled out the paper work but indicated I wasn't released from work until my expected due date. So how exactly do they think I'm supposed to work while on bed rest?? Ugghh. So I have a call in to them now.
My weekend was nice though! My mom came over and died my hair - it was looking rough and now I'm not allowed to go to my hair appointments. Then yesterday I got permission to attend my baby shower. I laid on the couch the whole time but it was still such a great day! I am so very blessed!!

Oh cool, I will look for the friend request.
Ugh, dealing with work and the STD stuff has got to be frustrating. I hope it was just a typo or something that they will be able to correct quickly. Personally, I've been trying to get a hold of my HR rep all day. My situation is a little weird because I don't even know if I'm going to be out for more than a week, so I don't know if I should be filing for STD yet, or just using sick time. Heh, I actually e-mailed my boss this morning to ask if there is any possibility that I can work from home, if the doctor won't let me go back after this week. I'm still waiting to hear back.
It's awesome that you got permission to go to your baby shower! It's nice to have something to look forward to.

Sucks about your internet. What a time to lose it! I hope it gets sorted out.
Yeah, I'm not sure if it's possible for me to even work at home or not. My boss talked to the manager and she's going to talk to HR about it, I guess. For now she just told me to follow my doctor's orders and be patient. I'm not so good at that, I guess.

I feel kind of guilty for not working, so I feel like I can't let myself relax and enjoy doing nothing. So I ended up doing a lot of little tasks today and now I've got nothing left on the agenda for the rest of the week! I would appreciate any suggestions.

I also have a very stressful job. It can be done somewhat from home but I think the frustration of trying to get it done on a slow connection would make me crazy. Not to mention I had more contractions yesterday than I've had since I was still in the hospital. I really think they were due to stress. I'm also lucky that we have STD that will pay me 80% of my salary until the babies arrive. At that point I switch over to 100% pay for my maternity leave.
As far as keeping busy, I have a lot of things I should be doing but nothing I want to do, LOL!! Like I have a stack full of thank you notes I need to write out but I haven't even started yet. I have been trying to take the advice of the Dr Luke book (I re-read the bed rest chapter) and make a routine for myself. So far it's looking something like this:
-Get out of bed and move to couch around 8, eat breakfast, watch Today until that horrible Kathy Lee comes on.
-Turn on computer, waste time on Pinterest (do yall have this?? If not I can send you an invite. It is a wonderful time suck!!), Facebook, and the Bump
-Shower between 11 and 12, then eat lunch
-More surfing or napping if I'm tired until 3. Then it's time for trash-tv double header. Dr Phil and Maury.
-5-6, ponder what to have for dinner, place my order with DH. Thank God for DH.
-7-midnight, play on computer and fall asleep on the couch until my alarm goes off for my midnight procardia dose. Get in bed.
Rinse and repeat.
