Pregnant after IF

"I am praying you go early"

My boss told me this today, as DH asked for some time off for when baby comes. I really want him at home for a few weeks, as we are out here by ourselves. Anyway, my boss said this today so the weeks DH wants off will be over the school break. But that would mean that my baby comes at 35 weeks. DH said not too early I hope, and then he just laughed. He is suck a jerk sometimes.

Re: "I am praying you go early"

  • That's ridiculous and your boss should know better.  Sorry he was so insensitive.

  • Awful.  Bosses can be so aggravating.  Mine called this morning to see if I would be working from home while on bed rest.  Ummm no!

  • Ugh, what a jerk.  I don't think people realize how important it is to go as close to 40w as you can with a pregnancy!  Even when we had our little scare and have had news of potentially delivering between 33-37w I've had people telling me that it will be fine b/c they know XYZ who delivered even earlier.  Well, yeah, I realize that more than likely everything will be fine if she came at this point, but there's a reason pregnancy is designed to be 40 weeks long!  Blah.

  • Inappropriate. I honestly don't think that some people realize that having a baby come too early, even if just a few weeks early can be dangerous to the health of the baby. Some people are just ignorant. Sorry you had to deal with that.
