Parenting after 35

***newbee36***

Hi ladies! I am new to this Board but I am so excited I found you!

Newbee36, As I was peeking in I saw your post about the blood in your baby's poop. I was EXACTLY were you are a year ago and the fear of seeing something like that can just pop you in the gut!  What our quick story was - she had a milk protein allergy.  We were told that babies usually outgrow this around 6 month and I am so happy to say that we just had her 1 year app. and her poop looked great!  (I never thought I would know so much about poop before!)  She tried a few different formulas (I wasn't breastfeeding) and we ended up with "EleCare" which worked out amazingly!  In Mass it is a law that your health care provider MUST cover the cost of the formula.

I know it is so hard not to worry - plus I was a hormonal wreck on top of it! - but if there is anything I can do to help please don't hesitate to contact me on this board (now that I have found you girls, I will be visiting more!)

  • Hi KCfishy! First, welcome to the board and second, thanks for sharing your experience. It is definitely a relief to know that there were other cases like mine and that everything turned out fine.

Today is Monday, but I was going to post an update tomorrow, since we are officially going to see the pedi tomorrow. For now I just know (via phone call) that the results from the stool samples are good, i. e. nothing to be worried about. Also, on Friday we did blood count, since I went back to the clinic and insisted for it, and those results are generally good as well. So I am somewhat relieved. Whew!  Tomorrow I will post an update from the pedi's visit.

Thanks again, and I hope you enjoy this board! :)
