Re: HELP!!!

  • You probably need something a little more consistent or that pushes you a little harder and some resistence training. If you aren't into a gym--what about a couple workout DVDs? Also, nutrition plays a HUGE part in body composition.

I would invest in a cardio DVD (pick something you think you'd like zumba or kickboxing --ect) and then a toning DVD with a couple resistance tubes or hand weights and go from there.

If you dont want to do DVDs-- you could try googling walking workouts and bring along a resistance tubing ect for some interval type work on your walks.

  • They say, and I've found to be true, that weight loss is 80-90% diet and only 10-20% exercise. I'd track your calories on a website such as sparkpeople or livestrong to get a better idea of how much you are eating. You can put in your current and goal weight as well as your exercise routine and it will give you a daily calorie goal. I thought I ate fairly healthy, but it was truly eye opening to me when I did sparkpeople. I tracked what I ate for about 6 months and it helped me lose 20lbs.

This!  I like www.my-calorie-counter.com .  It's a good site to keep track calories and exercise.  You mentioned walking; do you run?  Couch to 5k is a great training program to ease you into running.

Fruit juice is full of empty calories and sugar.  Try switching to water.

  • It definitely sounds like calorie tracking might be your logical next step. A few years ago, I was in a somewhat similar position (exercised a bit, ate relatively healthy foods, but just wasn't seeing results on the scale. I spent right about half a year tracking calories on Spark People and lost 30 pounds. Even though most of what I ate was healthy, I was still consuming too many calories.

  • I cant run due to bad asthma.

I have tried an app on my phone that tracks calories but i stopped using due to forgetting to use it and it not working in stones and ounces

  • Have you tried MFP (my fitness pal) I LOVE that site! It really helped hold me accountable with my eating and has helped me lose 14lbs. I have also started the Insanity DVD workout through Beachbody. It has also helped me tone up and tighten up in spots that I thought were doomed especially due to a  C-section.
