DD is almost 5 months and just learned to roll over. She's also rolling over at night and sleeping on her belly. This kinda scares me! Should I be worried or am I just being paranoid??
Remember, if you're still swaddling, you must stop cold turkey now that she's rolling (I'm not looking forward to this! lol)
I don't think there's much you can "do". It's a normal developmental milestone, and many babies prefer sleeping on their tummies. I assume you've taken out any loose objects, and taken the SIDS precautions. Don't worry.
If you don't already have one, you could get an Angelcare monitor for your peace of mind.
In daycare once the child is able to roll they are allowed to sleep on their belly. It is considered ok at this point. Most parents still put the child to sleep on their back but if they roll to their belly you do not have to continually flip them. You would be up all night flipping the baby and I'm not sure she would ever "learn" to stay on her back.
Yeah she hasn't let me swaddle her since she was about a month old LOL. But I try to never put a blanket on her or have any loose objects in her crib. I think I'm just a worry-wart!
Don't worry, you're not the only one freaked out by this! DS did this for the first time on Saturday night, and I about had a heart attack when I went to check on him in the morning and he was on his stomach. I actually accidentally woke him up in my rush to make sure he was still breathing . I know our pedi said it was fine for him to sleep any way he could position himself, so I guess I just have to try not to stress too much about it. Easier said than done!
I thought this post was going to be about something else. DS recently learned to roll over and now he rolls over at night, wakes up screaming and won't go back to sleep! I am exhausted!

Abby did this too when she first started rolling. Longest 2 weeks of my life! Now she only cries when she wedges herself against the side of the crib or in an corner. I don't know how she manages to get herself in the corner...
Anyway, now we are waking constantly due to teething. It seems like once she starts sleeping for a good stretch during the night, 3 days later we have something that will keep us up for the next 2 weeks or so.

When DD first started rolling over she would get her bottom arm pinned under herself and I'm guessing it fell asleep and she would wake up screaming. But now she seems to have it down. She's also teething too and her first tooth cut through a few days ago so she's not waking up much at night anymore. But we started her on rice cereal very early because she had acid reflux and she's been STTN since about a month old. I DID NOT miss waking up through the night LOL it was hard to get adjusted to that again.
