Emergency U/S: PIP

So long story short. Went in for the million questions and SURPRISE - YOU GET TO HAVE A PAP TODAY! oh joy.  About the time her elbow is up to my vagina she decides that things just don't feel right and my ute feels way too small (WTF??!). She couldn't find the hb on the fetal doplar and says it's a 50/50 but something doesn't feel right to her (or me either at this point b/c I'm pretty sure her fingers were up in my lungs). So she sent me to the hospital for an emergency u/s.

W.T.F.

Freaking out ensued.

U/S turned out fine. Pregnancy is normal. Measuring right along target. Saw and heard heart beating. Saw baby wiggling.

I can breathe now.

The nurse lady was like, "it's probably nbd, don't worry. I know you're probably worrying but don't worry"

    And I was like, okay...that's okay...I'm not worried...I'm sure it's nbd...

And then because maybe I didn't seem worried enough she starts rubbing my arm and giving me this look like it was the end of days and she's like, "It's gonna be okay..."

And she did that one too many times in the last 10 minutes I was at the practice...so by the time I left, I WAS worried.

  • This happened to me last week too! After quite a scare and a few tears we went in for an ultrasound and saw the little baby. It was a huge relief! It makes you freak out though hearing that the doc can't find a heartbeat. Fortunately things turned out alright for us so far! The ultrasound tech said the doc couldn't hear the heartbeat because the baby was still so small. She moved my due date back a few days, I'm no longer due the 13th. I'm due the 17th. All of this gets so confusing! Good luck with everything!

  • I am glad everyhing turned out ok! It's so annoying when they "think" something isn't right. I had it happen to me. I went to the ER for pain and the on call doc did a very painful and rough transvaginal u/s, and says "I think all I see is an irregular sac but I dont know,  you need to go to get a better u/s to confirm". Then everyone pours into my room... taking blood... offering me pain meds. I said "pain meds, I pregnant, what kind are they? I need to eat". Then the nurse says "well maybe you shouldn't eat incase we need to do a procedure". WFF already prepping me for a d&c?! Fast forward 3 hours later and my blood work at u/s measure at 5 weeks. I think I am 6 weeks at that point. I go back a week later thinking the worst and we saw the baby and HB at 125! So far things are good  - we were just week off on our date :)

We code name the doctor in the ER as Dr. D-Bag. We never saw him again, he didnt even have the balls to come back to give me the results, he had someone else do it.

And he didnt introduce himself, he had the nurse introduce him. Total D-Bag!

Anyways, had to get that out and glad you are all good!

  • I'm SO glad my doctors office has in house U/S! SOOOO GLAD! LOL Even though my doctors office is connected by a second level walkway TO the hospital, I'd still rather not have to go somewhere else, check in, wait some more etc! That waiting would kill me. With DS there were some concerns about some measurements in his brain and we had to see a specialist. That was the LONGEST two week wait of my life and we had to do it in the hospital's radiology unit, so it made it even more scary.
