A fellow bumpie and I were chatting this weekend and both said how much we've learned from the boards - from simple tips and recipes that have saved tons of time to great products we couldn't live without. so, I wanted to share a couple and hope maybe you'll all chime in and do the same!
Ikea crib sheets - they are 9.99 for a 2 pack and are super soft jersey material with elastic all around so they stay put. (FWIW, I tried ultimate crib sheets and they were hard to get on our crib, plus didn't work well with the mesh bumper)
super quick and yummy tilapia recipe - I usually triple the recipe for the seasonings and keep it already mixed so all I have to do is defrost the fish, coat it, and toss it into the pan. Dinner takes 10 minutes and even non-fish lovers like it! https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sandra-lee/pan-fried-tilapia-recipe/index.html
Re: Share your great finds...
Micheals is the best place for kid birthday gifts! They have a big kids corner section full of Crayola activity sets, crafts and they also have a big selection of Melissa and Doug toys.
Micheals has 40% and 50% off coupons in the paper every Sunday, so that makes for inexpensive gifts. We have no less than SEVEN kid birthday parties this fall and I've already picked up three Melissa and Doug gifts at half off!
My suggestions are for brand new moms, as I've been thinking recently about what to buy for my mom-to-be coworker...

Lactation cookies...

I'm not sure if they actually boosted my supply or not (maybe an ounce here and there), but while I was so sad about it dwindling they certainly made me feel better!
They are really yummy!
Oh my goodness, I've learned so many things from this board that it's hard to even remember everything.
1. I love the miracle blanket. They are pricey at $30 each but I will pay $30 for sleep.
2. 1-2-3 Magic has been a great book for us in managing toddler behavior.
3. Dr. Brown's Formula Pitcher is great for moms that use formula and the Munchkin drying rack is great for drying bottles.
4. I think it was MrsPhilDumphy that recently told me about this blog which has tons of activities for toddlers in the DC area. https://kidfriendlydc.com
5. I am forever grateful for learning about extended rear facing from this board and for the video someone linked to here. So many people have questioned my decision to still have DD#1 rear facing which shows that many people aren't educated about it. Just the other night someone was saying that her legs were going to be squashed. If it weren't for this board, I would've turned her around at a year because I wouldn't have known better. Someone also linked to a video about winter coats and carseats which was really good and has made me decide to use very thin coats in winter (at least while they are strapped in).
See, I learn new things everyday here. I wouldn't have even thought to look there for gifts but you are right that they have some good stuff and with the coupons, it makes it a good deal.
I keep all my great finds organized on Pinterest.com. It's amazing and addicting, and FULL of great finds. This board is my "fun with kids" board:

Pinterest is my great find!
I swear 80% of my child centered knowledge comes from message boards. I feel it just keeps me up to date and getting so many opinions and references makes me feel well rounded in my knowledge.
Books - Great Expectations (pregnancy book, very factual and I disliked What to Expect, not a fan of the formatting), Happiest Baby on the Block, Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child, 1-2-3 Magic, Raising Happiness, NutureShock.
Tips - Everything about car seats - how long to keep rear-facing, where to put the straps (above for forward facing, below shoulders for rear), where to put the chest clip, no bulky clothing or jackets under the straps.
I also learned that just about everything was normal or at least OK - I needed to relax about how much sleep, pee/poop, formula etc as newborns. I am not alone in not being cut out to be a SAHM of infants/toddlers. It is OK to like going to work while my kids are happy at daycare. It is OK if I lose my temper and yell every once in a while - I am only human and I have limits. There is no such thing as a being a perfect mom, all I can do is try my best and be satisfied with that (still working on that one).
Websites - I also like Macaroni Kids - Rockville for things to do in the area. They also have other local locales if you go the national homepage. Also Our Kids - I didn't get a membership but I did subscribe to their facebook page and it has some good info.
Recipes - Fave easy recipe is salsa chicken in the crockpot. A package of chicken breasts, a jar of salsa, a can of black beans, some frozen corn. Low 6-8 hours. Serve with sour cream and tortilla chips. Even the kids eat this one and they are crazy picky.
How to do air travel with an infant/toddler (take an extra set of clothes on the plane in case of sickness, protective bags for carseat/stroller, taking formula/bm/milk/juice through security, planning for naps)
The $10 amazon groupon and other flash sales (I think that day I had been oblivious to the world)
Amazon mom
And perhaps most importantly, that I am not alone in my feelings.
