Baby massage

Anyone massage their baby? What are the benefits and does your LO enjoy it? Kaiser (our medical facility) is having a class on it today and I would like to know if it's worth going to.

Re: Baby massage

  • I give my DD a massage every morning when I'm getting her dressed for the day. I put lotion on and massage it in. She loves it. The one day I had to be to work early and my hubby dressed her, she kept yelling at him until he put lotion on her. It's a nice start to her day.

  • I start going to a class tomorrow. I am pretty excited to see LOs reaction. My sister has done it with her son and she said he really liked it and that he was really relaxed all day after that class.

  • I would take the class. I wish there was a class near me! I looked up on youtube how to massage and I have been doing it since I started his bedtime routine around week 8. I looks like he enjoys it, some nights he is way too hungry and I'll skip the massage because I read somewhere that you should massage them only if they are alert and calm. I also read that it's very good for the circulation and digestive system. LO is very gassy, I usually massage his belly and grab his legs and bring them to his belly, release, back to belly, and that gets some gas out and he gets a kick out of it every time lol.
