She's been going pee on the potty pretty consistently for about a week. When did you know to switch and is it worth it? Some moms think pull-ups were a waste of money so curious what others think.
We made the mistake of going to Pull-Ups but he reverted and started peeing in those. I suggest going straight to underwear. Plus pull-ups are expensive!
I went straight from diapers to underwear. Pull ups are just more expensive diapers. Daycare and other moms I talked to recommended no pull ups because the concept is not to go on yourself and pulls up send mixed messages. I used diapers during naps and nighttime for the first two weeks after we did the 3 day method until I noticed that DS had good control. He would pee a lot in his diaper at night to the point where I was changing it after he was asleep about 4 hours because it was soaked. When I switched him to underwear at night I reminded him before bed that he is wearing underwear and pee and poop go in the potty
I used them with DD and will not make the same mistake with DS. She was peeing in the pull-ups and since they are so similar to underwear, she thought she could pee in the underwear. Took a while to undo that. With DS, going straight from diapers to underwear when it is time.
Re: Did you use pull-ups? If so, when did you know to switch?
I did and they worked great for DD. I switched her a few months before she turned 2 and she was ready for PT by her birthday.
I started PT w/panties during the day and still used pull ups for sleeping for another few months.
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
