I don't even remember getting homework when I was in kindergarten---but ofcourse that was a million years ago and from what I understand, times have changed.
DS gets homework EVERY week. This seems a bit much to me.
We get homework once a week and it's normally an activity for us to do as a family. For example, DD's class is doing a unit on transportation, so Monday her homework was to decorate a cardboard train car any way she wanted and they hung them on the bulletin board at school.

not actual paperwork - but collect things around the house that begin w/ the "C" sound, look for different shaped leaves, yes, those kinds of homework.
DS hasn't had any yet, but my niece had homework about every other school day last year when she was in K3. It was usually something simple like practicing writing the first letter of her name 5 times or something though.
Thanks for the replies! DS gets curriculum sheet hand outs (tracing shapes, coloring using certain colors, etc.) However there are like 8 pages each week.
DH and I are going to do as much as we can with DS. If I'm not able to get him to finish all 8 or so pages, I'll turn in what I can.
Yes, but it's nothing big. She has to bring in a picture of a word that begins with a different letter every Thursday. She also has a scripture of the month (she goes to a Christian school) that she practices at home and recites at school.
