We've narrowed down our choices to 2 names. We like them both, however I like one slightly more than the other and of course, Jorge feels that way about the other name. Which do you like better?
Camila Isabel
Cecilia Isabel
We say the names in Spanish, but I don't think there is much variation in the pronounciations of the first names. Thanks ![]()

I love both! I like Camila slightly better than Cecilia (the full versions of the name) but my only problem with Camila is that I don't love the nicknames for it. Cecilia is beautiful and I think Ceci is a cute nickname. But if you plan to call her by her full name always and not use nicknames, I vote for Camila
Not sure how much you care about name meanings and popularity, but look (this is from nameberry.com):
For Camila:
Origin of Camila: Latin, "young ceremonial attendant"Camila's Popularity in 2010: #61The Spanish Camila, pronounced ka-MEE-la, is the fastest rising version of this ancient Roman name, but recent royal Camilla may have helped promote the British brand. In Roman myth, Camilla was a swift-footed huntress so fast she could run over a field without bending a blade of grass. For Cecilia:
Latin, feminine form of Cecil, "blind one"Cecilia's Popularity in 2010: #277Cecilia, a delicate and lacy feminine form of Cecil, which derives from a Romanclan name, has definitely been rediscovered. The martyred Saint Cecilia was designated the patron of musicians, either because she supposedly sang directly to God while the musicians played at her wedding, or because as she was dying she sang to God--in either case making it a fitting name for opera star Cecilia Bartoli. On TV, the Cecelia spelling variation was the name chosen for Pam and Jim's baby on The Office; in real lfe the name of the daughters of Vera Wang and SoledadO'Brien.Cecilia is also a Dickens character name in Hard Times, and also appears in the novels Atonement and The Virgin Suicides, and The Hunger Games series, as well as being the subject of a memorable Simon & Garfunkle song.Cecilia, Celia and Cecily are all nameberry faves. Thanks for the meanings Jen!
By the way, the middle name is pretty much just going to be on paper. It's my grandmother's name, who is like a second mom for me and has been babysitting Nico while I'm at work (and hopefully baby sister too). We don't plan on calling her by both names on a regular basis.
As for nickknames, we would probably use Mila for Camila and Ceci for Cecilia
I like cecilia much more. Very feminine name

I was just telling DH the other day how much I love the name Camila and I hadnt considered Mila as the nn. I love it!
Cecilia is also very pretty, but it's my MIL's and SIL's name, plus some other people in our circle of friends. So, for personal reasons, it's not a name I would choose.
