I have been blonde my whole life up until Fall 2009. For years, U wanted so badly to have black hair. The blackest black (blue black). I finally got the nerve to do it one afternoon in 09 and haven't gone back to blonde since. Well, now that I'm expecting it's finally time! I have naturally blonde hair, as does my BF. The thought of our child possibly having blonde hair as well and me being the only one w/ black hair is not flying sooooo tomorrow I finally go back! I do not want to have to keep up w/ having my roots done and although studies show it's not been proven to be harmful to the baby, I'm not willing to take any chances! Plus, it's just one more thing I don't have to mess with! So excited!
Anyone else have to make the switch?
Re: Sayonara Roots!
My hair has been every color of the rainbow BUT my natural color since I was 16, mostly different shades of deep auburn. I finally am stating to see my natural color again...
I had my stylist color it close to what I thought was my natural color ( I hadn't seen it in a while!) before we started TTC just to be safe, and it's a good thing, or I'd have nasty roots right now. I'm now a medium brown, and will be for a while...
It is nice to not have to mess with keeping up with color though

I have light highlights in my hair but I dyed it just before conceiving. My doctor said as long as I wait until the second tri, and dye it every 3 months, I will be fine to continue my highlights.
Good news to me...I know its sometimes hard to feel cute while pregnant, so I at least want my hair lookin good!
I use a semi-permanent dye that's maybe a shade darker than my natural color, so thankfully, roots haven't been a problem. I've gone a little longer than usual between coloring, but I'm getting it done in October and will actually probably add a few highlights.
I am naturally dark blonde, and I never even considered it being weird if the baby has blonde hair. My parents were both brunettes and my hair was pretty light as a kid.
