Ok, so I'm going to totally date myself here, but in the late 80's/early 90's I can vaguely remember wearing bodysuits, which were basically the same thing only they were for grown women and a little nicer than these.
Do you ever watch Strange Addiction on TLC? There was an episode featuring a young woman (late teens early 20s) who was addicted to behaving like a baby. She purchased adult diapers and soiled them because "she loved the feeling of a warm diaper" found it comforting.
Her friends didn't know. She even held a job. At night she would change into her onesies, drink out of a bottle, suck her thumb and sleep in a crib she built for herself.
The whole thing was very odd.
She only had one friend who knew about it and he found it a little uncomfortable that they'd go shopping together and she'd have to find clothes to hide her diapers.
I wonder now if there is a whole weird movement for folks out there who want to return to babyhood.
I have a family member who works with developmentally disabled teens, several of which need to wear a diaper when they go on field trips. They often try to remove their own diaper like many of our own kids do, and the adult onsies help to avoid that issue.
Well way to make me seem flippant and rude. Of course if you look at the other suggested items there are adult onesies which are footed pajamas which look just like baby ones--teddy bear patterns and all and adult-sized pacifiers--so I'm sure these serve a wonderful need but I think there may still be a few people who use them alternatively.
Not that there's anything wrong with that per se--just a little different. Like most of the addictions on the show. I don't understand a compelling need to eat couch cushion and probably would stop sleeping with my blow dryer after it caught my bed on fire....

Yeah, I thought of situations like that shortly after I posted the link. I wasn't intending to be insensitive to those with special needs. I can see a market for something like this with those who have certain handicaps.

Yes but I don't think the adult pacifiers and the adult teddy bear footed jammies are meant for those with special needs. Those are also suggested on the same page as these so it makes me wonder--not sure who they're targeting here. I may seem insensitive too but having seen that episode of Strange Addiction--well...

I was going to say this! My Mom still has a few turtle necks and blouses that snap at the crotch. They weren't like baby clothes at all, in fact, they were usually more likely to be dress-up work clothes. It was so they would stay 'tucked' in nicely. I remember having a few myself that weren't so dressy.
Re: I've now seen it all...

ETA: Here's a linky.

Yes! I remember too
And, lol at the story in the link!
Yep, that was the first thing that came to my mind, too. I was always too chubby to pull them off, though. Oh so sad! hah.
HAHAHA I remember these...
I wore bodysuits in the 90's. WTH was I thinking
Oh yes we did. Shortly after the "dickie" phase.
I totally did too, LOL!
I vividly remember getting one for my birthday from Gap in '94. I was so cool.
