Recommendations for 4 month photograph location?

We are having DS's 4 months photos taken professionally in a week and a half. We have yet to pick a location where we're doing to do this. His NB photos were done at home, but I'm thinking we want to pick a location that is more "fun" while the weather is still decent. We live in Sterling, but wouldn't mind travelling 20-30 minutes if it's a good place for photos. Besides local parks (Claude Moore and Algonkian are close, but good for pics? Not sure), any recommendations?

    I am a local photographer and there are plenty of pretty locations in NoVA.  One of my favorites is Meadowlark Botanic Gardens in Vienna.  Or pretty much any garden or park setting works well as long as there are either vibrant colors from colors or leaves changing, or interesting features (water, cool trees, etc).     

    At 4 months there isn't a lot of posing involved.  Some tummy shots, back, propped up against something or in containers and baskets, and of course being held.  So the shots will be pretty closely cropped and the background won't matter too much.  This time of year you also have the option of a pumpkin patch, which would also be fun.  Good luck and have a great shoot!

    Colvin Mill is pretty but it costs $100 to shoot there now.

    Meadowlark is nice, costs $20 to shoot there...

    Wow Amber, Colvin Mill has a $100 fee?!  Crazy.  I can understand for a wedding, but that sounds super pricey for a child session.
