How to make bassinett more comfortable

We are using an armsreach co-sleeper for LO. Right now I have been putting the PNP bassinet attachment in it for LO, becasue its so much more snug and comfy (like a padded hammock). He is quickly growing out of this however, and want to transition him to just the co-sleeper mattress and then of course his crib. Problem is everytime I put him on the flat hard mattress he squirms like it is indeed uncomfortable and then wants out. Any suggestions? A positioner maybe or is there something safe that would make this more comfortable? I have a plush sheet saver that I have tied underneat, but that isn't working for him. What are you ladies doing? Thanks!

Re: How to make bassinett more comfortable

  • Aside from propping the mattress from underneath, I'm not sure there is a safe way to do it.  Our LO refused to sleep in her PNP, swing, bouncer, or a flat surface.  After 5 wks of her sleeping in our bed, we bought a Rock N Play.  It's been awesome.  She sleeps in it every night without a fuss.  I'm sure you don't want to buy something else, but it was totally worth it.

  • Buy the Rock N Play as PP suggested - worth every.single.penny! I found nothing that said it hurt them developmentally and he stayed in there until about 11 weeks. Now, I just put a soft blanket in his crib under his crib sheet and he'll finally sleep on his back (softens it just enough I guess without making it dangerous). I also used to put him in the middle of our king-sized bed to take naps just so he'd get used to being flat on his back while I was awake and could watch him closely. Good luck!
