I had CS on Wednesday and feel pretty good. But I'm nervous about going home today. We've had trouble latching and my milk just came in today. DS lost 10% of her birth weight. The doctor said there's no reason I can't go home but I can choose to stay another night. I'm worried that we've only had one successful unsupervised feeding and maybe I should stay another night just to make sure she doesn't keep losing. WWYD or did you do?
Re: Stay an extra night? WWYD?
***Congratulations to my TTCAL buddy Roxyttandme!! It's a GIRL!! Charlotte arrived on 9/29!!!!***
PGaL/PAL Always Welcome!!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
I went home early because I didn't want them to try to force LO to take formula because she lost weight. They were already hinting around it. She had regained her birth weight by day 10.
I also have a super supportive husband who helped out a lot, or rather just did everything for me. I did nothing around the house for two weeks. I don't understand women who feel the need to jump back at it right away. It really just depends on your situation.

I went home a day early but that was so I could have a day of help at home. Starting the day after that DH was working 13 hour shifts at his new job (ugh, only scheduled for 9- it was a nightmare), my mom worked 8 hours and my only "help" was my younger sister who came by to sort of bring me things for 2 hours. I wanted to get into the swing of being home before I was just practically abandoned there.
But, if that wasn't the situation and if I had any concerns at all, I would have stayed an extra night. Well, and if my insurance wasn't a jerk about it (might want to check that out, btw).
I stayed.
OB offered to send me home, but insurance covered the extra day. With a then-2yo at home, I was in no hurry to race home and be in charge of 3 kids. I wanted all the help I could get in the hospital!
STAY! I would have loved to stay an extra week if I could (I was there for monday-friday).
But then, I'm the weird person who actually doesn't mind hospital stays (no cooking/cleaning, someone there to take care of your every need (and after a c section, those extra needs were a lot), a nice food lady comes around and brings you food, etc)
I had a bit of a unique situation since DD was in the nicu. I could go visit her, and then when I got tired, I could walk across the floor to my room and grab a nap. It sucked having to go home, since I would have to drive to visit her.
