Baby Names

Family Names?

I really want to have names picked out when I find out the gender of my baby. There is an ultrasound imaging place that can give you gender results at 16 weeks which I will be next week!! I'm so excited to find out. For a girl I'm 75% sure I'm going to use Ashlynn Avery. I love the way it sounds but it doesn't have any family meaning. I'm still kind of stuck on boy names. I would LOVE to honor both of my grandparents because they are the ones who raised me. According to an old wives tale from back in the day, if your first born had the initials C.A.S.H. it was good luck and good fortune. So before my grandmother married my grandfather her initials were Cash..Cleatus Ann Sharon H..... (she goes by Sharon lol) my grandfather is Victor Wiley. Can yall think of any names, both boy and girl, that might work in honor of them?? I was thinking about Cash Wiley for a boy. Thoughts? Thanks ahead of time!!

PS If it helps at all, I really like names like Asher, Brody, Ryder, Weston, Ect.

Re: Family Names?

  • What about Victor Cash? I like Victor as a first name better than Cash. Whatever you do, I would leave Cleatus out of it. When I was pregnant with DS 1, DH and his friends thought it was funny to call the baby Cleatus the Fetus and it drove me crazy!

  • Cleatus is DEFINITELY not an option lol. My grandmother has gone by Sharon her entire life. She hates Cleatus and so do I. I think I want to stay away from Victor as a first name. I just don't love it and I have an aunt names Vicki after him. It might work for a MN though.
  • I think Cash Avery would be cute.

  • Cash Adam Stone Holden or Carter Asher Samuel Harlan

I think Cash Victor honors both.

  • Cash Adam Stone Holden is REALLY cute but 5 names is too much for me. That's why I ws just thinking about using Cash MN LN or FN Cash LN. Or any other suggestions you guys can come up with :)

  • I really like Cash Wiley, but I might be the only one. I love the name Victor, but I don't like Cash Victor... if that makes sense?

  • I kinda like Cash Wiley, too. However, I would be a little concerned about the lack of fn formality. DH has a good friend named John Wiley that goes by Wiley.

  • Cash Wiley is about the only name I can come up with that honors both of them and flows well. But I am also worried about the lack of formality. It just isn't a very professional, grown up name. It works for a child/teen/young adult but I don't think it will age well :-/ I'm so stuck!!
