1st Trimester

Freaking out a bit at lack of symptoms. Anyone else?

I am 5w3d today... From the get go I had no symptoms at all other than a lack of appetite and somewhat sensitive boobs (maybe a 3 on a scale of 1-10) late last week.  I was also super emotional on Friday but that may have been because I was exhausted and stressed at work.  I went to bed at 8:30 that night and woke up yesterday at 8 am feeling completely normal.  I have occasional cramping (which I've had all along) and that's about it.  I ate better too and have more interest in food.  My boobs are normal, I don't feel tired.

I am really freaking out that something is wrong.  Shouldn't symptoms be increasing, not decreasing from whatever little I have?  I'd give my right arm to be throwing up right now.  After trying for 4 years and the amount of medical help I needed to finally get pregnant, I don't know how I'll go on if this is not viable.

  • I should mention that I had two c/p in the past - 3 years and 2 years ago.  Both times I felt different than now - I had a lot of constant dull pain and cramping, followed by brown spotting and then bleeding.  I have none of this right now... but, I am still really scared.

  • Maybe a comfortable, non-hurling pregnancy is your blessing after going through so much to get pregnant!!  Try to relax & enjoy it.  I'm 9 weeks & have very few symptoms at all- only occasional sore boobs like you & some fatigue (which may have more to do with going back to school after a relaxing summer than pregnancy!!)  I've seen many, many posts about women not having symptoms so we are definitely not alone!!  Hang in there.  Best of luck to you!!
Blessed to be married to my best friend & so in love with our little man!!

  • Hey!

Symptoms can come and go especially that early.  I had sore boobs and cramps since beofre my BFP, the nausea and vomiting for me really hit at 6 weeks, lasted for two weeks and now it is just nausea but I haven't vomited in a week.  Try not to worry too much  ~  I know it is hard but try!  When is your first ultrasound?  xoxo

  • I haven't had many symptoms either.  Little cramps, sore nipples, some irritability and just in the past few days a little morning sickness.  But it took me to get into my 6th week to feel the slight morning sickness.  I am sure more symptoms will pop up soon or maybe you will not have them.   Either way you can still have a healthy pregnancy.

  • I've had very little symptoms.  My appetite is limited but I've not thrown up at all.  My boobs are a little extra sensitive but sometimes I don't feel it at all.  That's really about it.

However, I have no idea if my baby is ok in there because I won't have my first ultrasound until my NT scan on Oct 1.

I know that doesn't reassure you.  I'm sorry.  I'm trying to be positive and think that perhaps I am just going to have an easy pregnancy.

  • I was the same way at first. At 5 weeks they did a u/s to confirm it was not eptopic and even then w/o symptoms I was in doubt. I am now 8 1/2 weeks and feel a little here and there but nothing major. I think it comes and goes like PP said. I am expecting twins even and thought it would increase all the signs but that is not always the case. Every pregnanacy is different and this may be your lucky one. Symptoms may also show up later in second tri too. Don't worry you are not in alone in these feelings! GL!
  • I felt the same way as you about my lack of symptoms, until yesterday when m/s hit me full force. Like the other ladies have said, the symptoms come and go, and i really didn't start feeling any different until I was 6 weeks.

  • I see this same or similar post 3+ times a day when I stroll through the board. I didn't have not one symptom until 6 weeks (thats how far I was per my first u/s but by my LMP I would have been 8wks) and then it was full blown nausea all day and night. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different from the last. I have never had any spotting of any kind (thank God cause that would have freaked me out). If your really concerned, make an apt with your OB so they can ease your concerns and maybe even draw some labs verify your prego..if you still have enough hormones for a OTC prego test to be positive then maybe your one of the few LUCKY ones who doesn't have to deal with all the nasty symptoms. GL!

  • Hi,

I had mild symptoms early on such as breast tenderness and fatigue. Other than that I have been feeling fine. I was worried that that baby wasn't there anymore because I have been feeling so well at 8 weeks. I went to the doctor for a routine appointment, and everything was absolutely fine! I even got to see our little peanut on ultrasound. It was amazing!!! Consider yourself very lucky that you are not sick as a dog. Enjoy feeling well now, because you don't know what the future symptoms will be. Stop worrying, and just love the fact that your body is being so nice to you.

    Hugs,

    Peanut Lover

  • At 5 weeks my symptoms of sore breasts and fatigue started coming and going. Many of my friends never even had symptoms at this stage including sore breasts. Your symptoms will come and go. If it makes you feel any better I haven't really had morning sickness the way it is described by some on this board. I know it's hard but try to relax and enjoy.

  • Some days my symptoms are stronger than others.  You still have to time before more symptoms may start.  I was in my 6th week when I was hit with 24/7 m/s, and my boobs have been very sore since the beginning (first symptom).  Now my m/s has decreased, I have 24/7 headache that never goes away.  I wouldn't stress out too much if you don't have symptoms just yet.  Just take it day by day.  Hope you have an easy and healthy pregnancy!!!  Congrats!

  • I had almost no symptoms till  about  4 months just missed piriods and a positive test lol.

Now LO is nearly 11 months

  • My boobs were really sore in the beginning and then got less sore. 5 weeks is pretty early for symptoms anyway.
  • Don't freak out! Not everyone gets the "normal" symptoms.  With my first kid, I barely could tell I was pregnant until I started showing.  I paid for it during my 3rd tri though, swollen ankles, sore boobs, and heartburn everyday!  Enjoy it while it lasts.  Unless you start bleeding, everything is probably fine.

  • I completely understand your freak out.  I am 8 weeks today and the ONLY symptom I had at 6 and 7 weeks was sore breast and now that is almost gone. Just in the last few days, some fatigue has set in.   Everyone says to enjoy it but it is really hard.  I
