You ladies must be sick of my bleeding stories, but this is a good one (well, actually a horrible one). Lots of TMI. At about 10:30 yesteday, I was at work and felt some bleeding. I went to the bathroom and had a gush, pretty much like the ones I had last week. I didn't freak out and decided to wait and see what happened before calling the doctor. I continued bleeding pretty heavily, and then at 12:15 or so had another big gush. So at that point I started freaking out a little. I called my OB and she told me to call the high-risk (which is where I will be getting u/s done). They tell me to come in at 2. So I leave work and drive the 45 minutes there. DH meets me. We're walking across the parking lot and I feel a HUGE gush. Like it doesn't stop, and I can start to feel it running down my legs. I hobble in to the elevator and this poor guy is in there with us as I'm freaking out. He tells me it will be ok. We get to the office and the waiting room is packed. DH tells me he can now see blood on the back of my pants. I tell the lady at the desk that it's an emergency and she gets me into a room right away. The whole waiting room was staring at me!
I sit down and the doctor comes in and I tell him what happened. They have to move me to another room with a transvag probe, and when I get up there is blood where I was sitting. I wrap the sheet around my waist and walk down the hall. More people staring. When I go to get undressed I see that my pad is completely soaked, as are my underpants, and my pants are pretty bad as well. I think I made a mess in the bathroom! Anyway, I go back in and I tell DH that I'm pretty sure it's over. The doctor comes in and examines my cervix - it's closed. Then he does the u/s. The baby is in there, heart beating away at 174! I start crying.
But there is some blood visible on the u/s. The doctor says it's good it's not behind the placenta. I ask him what he causing it and STILL no explanation! He puts me back on bedrest and tells me to stop the Lovenox for the time being - he said he's not that concerned about my clotting issues and more concerned that the bleeding areas heal.
They gave me mesh undies to wear home and I had to walk out of there with a hospital gown wrapped around my waist to hide the stains on my pants. I'm still bleeding a little bit but not nearly as much.
Pregnancy so far has been terrifying. I don't know what to think about why this is happening or what the outcome willl be. Just trying to take it day by day, or more like minute by minute. I'm encouraged that the baby is doing fine - it's my stupid body I'm worried about. If you made it this far thanks for listening.
