hey ladies! hoping to get your opinion on Harper, do you think it is going to get crazy popular (or is it already?) since the Beckhams named their daughter this? It's the one name that we agree on and LOVE more than everything else. Weird that I care if it's popular when we would use Jack had it been a boy no matter what

any suggestions for middle names?

I'm not a huge fan of Harper. I just do not like the sound of it. It's really popular in some areas and I do expect it to get more popular with the Beckham's using it.

But it sounds like it's your name to me. If you're this in love with it, you should go for it.

I love it! It's something I've considered as well. I don't mind that it's popular because I don't personally know of anyone with that name so it IS different in my mind.

Before I saw two of the previous posts I was going to suggest:

Harper Marie

or

Harper Grace

So make that two votes for those names!

to me it isn't popular but annoyingly trendy. thanks to victoria beckham i'm sure it'll rise drastically in popularity. a woman on my birth month board has just named her baby girl harper.

I like it though I've always preferred it for boys. I don't think it will get quite as popular as people think - I doubt it will crack the top ten. Top twenty five, probably. Either way, if you love it, use it (just don't spell it kre8ivly).

Consider doing what Harper Lee's (the original Harper's) parents did and give her a "real" feminine first name and go by the middle. Harper Lee's actual first name was Nelle. Harper was probably her mother's maiden name or another family surname.

ETA: The name was already almost top-100 last year, and that was before the dreaded "Beckham surge."

I don't see the appeal but obviously many people love it otherwise it wouldn't be so popular. It just doesn't have a nice sound to it, imo.

If you love it, use it. It is very popular and I suspect will continue to be so, so if that idea bothers you, find something else. There are plenty of "spunky" girl names that aren't so trendy.

We were going to use it with DD, glad we didn't now because I think it is getting to be very trendy/popular. I wouldn't use it personally, but to each their own.

This is my opinion too.

I loved the combo Harper Kate... I think another Bumpie had a DD and used that recently.

I think it has been popular for a few years now. It will get more popular due to Mrs. B. But I don't see it being in the top ten. I still like it. If you LOVE it go for it.
