I was taking my daily morning walk and somehow managed to lose my balance.  I fell pretty hard (although my knees, ankles, and hands took most of the beating) but still ended up prone and face down.

OB sent us to L&D to be safe since I did land on my stomach.  Baby looked great and the labs were normal, so we were getting ready to go home.  Then I started having contractions and they started coming really quickly (getting to a minute apart).  Talk about scary.  Two IV bags of fluid later and things slowed down, although I'm still contracting a lot, we can't find a measurable pattern.

They did ffn, but cervix is still high and closed (and they made me wait for 4 hours after the contractions to do another internal.  Since i'm not dilated, they sent me home with strict instructions to take it easy and come back if I start to feel intense contractions.  She didn't do steroid shots since I'm not dilated, but if things change then they won't waste any time if I have to go back...

So they werent' kidding when they said internals hurt!!  Holy moly!  but I'm glad to knwo that everything is still closed. 

I'm still a little shaken up and praying that nothing changes this weekend!

(and I think I need to find another mode of exercise for a while!)

    oh my gosh, that sounds so scary! glad they were able to get things semi-under control and that you aren't dilating.

    i'll keep you in my thoughts - i hope your contractions stop and you don't have to go back for another 8 weeks!

    Wow hun, that is super scary! I hope that everything continues to remain alright for you and your LO. Praying this was a small blip in the road and causes no further contractions or anything!!!

    That is scary!  Sorry you had to experience that.  I hope the contractions stay away until you are term!

    Oh my gosh, I am so afraid of falling later in this pregnancy when I am bigger.  I am a majorly uncoordinated klutz.  I'm so glad that you checked out ok and I'm sending my best wishes that those contractions stay away for a good long time!

    Scary!! Glad you're ok now. I wouldn't move an inch now if it were me. (paranoid). Stay safe!
