Hi I?m Katie, My husband and I, and our two furry children live in Edmonds.
I?ve been a page lurker for months and was unsure where to dive in, I?m somewhere in between Babies on the Brain, and TTC. My husband and I were married about a year and half ago, and while we haven't been trying to conceive we have been preventing it either. Sense its been over a year without using BC I went to the doctor to get checked out and found out yesterday that everything is good! So I figured its time to start temping and charting. Any advice for a newbie, who is starting to test the TTC waters?
I?m looking forward to meeting you all!

Welcome Katie!
I just sucked when it came to charts and tracking things. When we decided to TTC I just bought the Clearblue Easy Digital Fertility monitor. You basically pee on the stick and it goes in to the test monitor and it tells you when you are ovulating or in a peak period. It worked great for us and I found it really easy to use. I just gave my monitor to our friends who are TTC.
Best of luck!
All of this. Trying to Get Pregnant is another great board to lurk on. They have an awesome FAQ for Newbies at the top of their page, but they can be a little dramatic at times. There are a lot of girls TTC right now. I'm TTC #2. GL and welcome!

Ditto and ditto! (Well, except the TTC #2 part.
) Welcome to the board!

Totally agreed with all of this.
Even if you decide not to temp/chart, it's still VERY useful information!
Welcome, OP, to the board, and best of luck!

Welcome and good luck TTC. DH, DD and I also live in Edmonds. We really like it there.
I have not TTC advice as we had "unexplained infertility" so nothing worked for us until we went the IVF route. Hope you have much better luck!
Welcome Katie! I found Taking Charge of Your Fertility really helpful...at first to reduce my chances of getting pregnant but not have the hormonal swings of birth control, then later to get pregnant. Once DH and I were around the same point you're at, I found full charting too overwhelming but started using a free phone app (MyCycles...it's ok, not awesome) to track when I got my period each month. Also bc my cycles are somewhat irregular, it helped make it less of a suprise each month when AF came to visit so I was less often caught wearing white pants begging friends for supplies.
We were in that "not trying but not NOT trying" state for almost 2 years (I didn't bother seeing a doctor because part of that time was us mentally adjusting to the idea) until I decided to start paying more attention to timing and ended up pregnant a few months later.
Welcome!
I was terrible at charting and temping, and instead used a phone app to help me track my fertile days. I liked it, it was an easy way for slacker me to keep track of things.
Good luck!
