I plan on using playtex drop ins, but want to breast feed as much as I can to start with little bottlefeeding. How does the pumping work? do i have to buy the storage bags that come with the pumping system? Can i store the milk in the playtex bags and then just put them in the bottles when we need them? Do you put them in the fridge? freezer? how long do they keep in each? THe playtex liners are bpa free, but I"m still nervous about heating/thawing in the plastic bags or using a warmer. what do you all do to warm/thaw them? So many questions....
Re: anyone planning to use playtex drop ins and breastfeeding?
I used them with Sam, and will this time as well.
I pumped into the medela bottles and stored in lanisosh (pretty sure I butchered that spelling) bags. This time I did buy the playtex pump and store kit, because I think for certain situations they will be great to use-ie, pumping when visiting family and I know I'm going to use that milk that day. Not so great for freezing b/c they won't be flat the way the other storage bags are.
I used warm water in a cup to defrost the milk. In the storage bags, because they are so thin, it only took a few minutes. I'd never buy a warmer, total waste of money IMO.
As to storage guidelines, look on www.kellymom.com for advice. I can't remember what it is for the fridge-and freezer depends on the type you have. With a deep freeze/freestanding, you can store up to 6 months.
Good Luck!
Playtex makes a gift set that comes with 2 8 oz bottles, 2 4 oz bottles, extra lids, and it also comes with an adapter ring and lids for the drop-ins so that you can use it with a breast pump. I plan to try using them to store milk in. I also have some bottles that my pump came with, so if I don't like them I'll use those. But I thought the gift set made it very easy. Like PP said, I would just thaw the liners in warm water, if you're worried about using the microwave. Here's a link. I couldn't find it on Target's website, but they have them in store here at Target.

As far as how long to store, I'm actually going to post something that my pediatrician gave me that I found really helpful, so instead of typing it twice, you can just check out my post. Hope this helps!
I am going to go back to work. I have a couple of options --
Pump into Medela bottles and either put in drop-ins for the next day at daycare or into storage bags for storage. Problem is transferring the milk.
Or:
I pump directly into the drop-ins using this storage kit for use at the daycare: https://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_024W010212710001P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 Pump into storage bags for extras. Problem is measuring in the drop-ins is not always reliable.
I think breastmilk will store for in the fridge for a few days and in the freezer for about 3 to 4 months. I don't think it matters which brand, as long as you've got the storage bags. I would guess you should thaw them in the refrigerator.. I've read to only heat breast milk in warm water. I'm planning to use playtex drop ins too. They make liners that you can store in. They also have the kits where you can pump into the liners and store: https://www.amazon.com/Playtex-Drop-Ins-System-Breast-Storage/dp/B0011UH78G
I'm not planning to do any pumping for a few weeks so I don't really know how good of a system it is. If you are worried about storage room in the freezer, you could pump into the other bags then transfer into the drop in liner when you're ready to feed. Check out the reviews on amazon in that link.
