I went shopping for maternity tights, but they were all out of my size. I have googled this and have found some responses saying it's perfectly safe, yet might be uncomfortable if they're too tight. Others say don't wear them simply because of varicose vein problems. Others said they can decrease blood flow.
What do to? I don't want to wear them everyday, just for a couple of hours so I can wear a dress while out at a fancy restaurant. My tights aren't crazy tight or anything, and the band is way above my belly button, so not squeezing baby.
I tried to find something about this in "What to Expect" book, and the only thing I can find is on one page is says to accent your growing bust to hide areas that might be less flattering, like your swollen ankles. You can also wear slimming black tights to hide the ankles. I guess this means it's okay??
Sorry. I'm neurotic I know, but I'm so terrified of losing this baby, especially after two losses in my past. I know I'm not responsible for those losses, but I just can't help but try to do everything right.
Sigh. Help please?
Re: Is it safe to wear tights??
If you can't find a maternity size - try the plus size section! Target generally has a pretty good selection and they are SO comfy.
I have worn tights a few times, just don't get control top. If not, go to Motherhood and get the leggings. They are comfy and you can actually breathe in them. I wear them to work all the time. Target sells leggings that are more like tights, but I don't like they way they fit, they are always sagging in the wrong areas!!
Good luck
