Birthday party dress

I'm not trying to overthink this - but my DD's bday is in October (having a party in late October) and the only dresses I had were sleeveless and looked very summery (all pastel colors).

What do you think of this (from Target)?  It's a soft corduroy material.

Here's my DD in one of the few "fall" dresses I do have - but I don't think it is dressy enough.  Aside from the summery stuff I have, I think darker/more vibrant colors are good with her hair/complexion (which is darker than how it looks in the pic below).

    I'm not super crazy about the one on top... but maybe over a pair of leggings?  I dunno...

    I do LOVE the pic you have of her below.  I think that one is just super cute!

    Eve has a dress very similar to that from target.. and I really hate the quality of it. She wore it once but it got all wrinkly/mishapen in the wash and i don't like the way it looks on her.
    Other than that though, I think its cute!
